Weeklybeats 2018

My first entry into #weekybeats #2018 turned out to be somewhat strange. It's quite unfinished and I didn't have any time to even start with mastering this, so it's quite unbalanced. But, I got a track done, for which I'm happy.

Ableton Live, Rob Papen's Predator 2 for the Pad all else is Ableton onboard stuff.

WB1801 - A Well Padded Cushion

Week #2 of Weeklybeats. A dark dub techno / acid crossover

WB1802 - Cross Over Dub

A quickly cobbled together tribute to the wonderful "Echo" effect from the Ableton Live 10 Beta.

Cliché dub, I guess. This week was a bit of a challenge, as I couldn't find time during the week and had a rather busy weekend, so this was done in maybe 3 hours total.

Mastering is done with LANDR/Medium.

WB1803 - Echo Dub Force

This week I had to prepare for a conference talk, so I, again, didn't find the time to work on a beat submission during the week. This track is done on the train ride home today (Sunday). I even managed to upload the whole thing as a WAV file to LANDR, download the mastered track and submit it all from my LTE connection. Impressive.

The wub wub is done with Korg Gadget's Miami, an amazing shortcut.

Please don't ask me what Genre this is, I have no idea.

WB1804 - Nightriders

After missing out week 5 for a number of reasons, I finished this one early, on thursday. Main theme was ready on, I think, monday, worked on it on and off during the week and arranged it (shoddily) including the crappy live rhodes on thursday.

A weird thing that resulted from a rhythmic sketch that somehow got a little over excited.

WB1832 - Lets not get crazy here

A followup to last weeks WeeklyBeats entry as I wasn't really happy with it and wanted to explore a couple of things a bit more.

WB1833 - Just To Quicky Follow Up

A weird mix of trap drums and dubtechno sound aesthetics.

All Synths except for the kick subbass are sampled from the Volca Keys ran through the Monotron Delay.

I really like the combo of the laid back synths and the booming drums and hectic hihats.
