So I decided to end my time on Netil Radio after 4 years.Though I've always been doing my show on and off, it was my creative home in London and was willing to give me a chance when I was new to the scene. So what better way to celebrate a glorious time at the station then to do a Gospel Special.

This show tracked Gospel and it's influence on different genres from the 1950's to today. With a healthy amount of Disco, Funk, House, Hip-hop and even Future beats.

Gospel Radio

So this is a band new venture - today's the start of mine and @naffimusic brand new show on @halfmoonbk.

Felt like I really needed a fresh start with the radio thing. I've always been mad taken in by the sounds coming out of London and Glasgow that really weren't garnering enough attention, compared to the Grime and Now Drill waves - Artists in Soul, RnB, Rap, Future and Funk that I don't think the music scene celebrates nearly enough.

So what better than to have a U.S based show where I could plug my fav U.K talent. Bridge the two scenes together and plug our fav UK artists.

Mad happy to have @osquello come talk to us about his recent works, his love of Samba and Bossa Nova and his sold out show at @thejazzcafe, as well as local legend @digital-mozart killing it with a NUKG inspired mix.

Back on Half Moon with a bang after a month's hiatus.

This one was super special. Was such a pleasure to speak to Artist and Illustrator Kieron Booth... Felt hella wholesome getting to speak to one of my favorite creative inspirations and wow! This interview was hella inciteful. Art wise we talked about creative breakthroughs through instilling habits, our mutual love for Mason London, and the intersectionality between design and music.

Music-wise we discussed the strength of London's Hip-hop scene, and the collaborative energy running through the city - showcased by the amazing The Silhouettes Project releases.

Hip Hop Xmas Special

So I was trying to articulate my thoughts properly before posting something about Doom. Words can’t describe the impact his and Madlib’s music had on me growing up. At school, I was insanely depressed in my final year, and his music got me through a serious tough spot in my life. I remember saving up my pocket money to buy King Geedorah on vinyl, and just playing it as loud as I could in my room. The beats, lyricism and mysticism of his work fully captured me and took me on a journey away from dark thoughts. 

To pay tribute – I’ve curated some of his best works from 1993 right up till 2019, with a few rarer cuts thrown in that you may have not heard before.

It was exceptionally hard narrowing down his catalogue, but managed to include my favourite beats and collabs with artists such as Danger Mouse, Busta Rhymes, @madlib / @quasimoto, Dilla, Kousnik, Kutmah, Wilmar Archer, MED, Blu, @tuxedofunk, and @wearedelasoul.

I didnt even have time after NYE to have a practice run, so the mix is 100% from the heart, picking the tunes that I thought flowed best.
