It’s safe to say that Spanish duo Clock Poets are pretty hardware-obsessed. Known for leaning towards minimal and techno planes, the Spanish duo are similarly renowned for their live sets and improvised jams, the likes of which have won plaudits aplenty from some of electronic music’s similarly renowned minds. One such person who’s clearly enamoured with what the boys are all about is Sleep is Commercial boss Andrea Ferlin, who has hosted them before on his much-revered imprint. For Clock Poets’ latest release, they rock up to the label once more; this time courtesy of the incredible ‘Interaction One – Berlin’. Releasing eight tracks from a lengthy recent recording, it’s a fascinating insight into the musical makeup of the duo which we’ve premiered here. We also caught up with them recently to learn more. Tunisian-born Hedi Dabbabi, becoming known on the scene as Objectif, is undoubtedly one of the rising stars to keep an ear out for amongst a new wave of exciting DJ’s & producers, having recently signed exclusively to MEOKO Agency.

Objectif is commonly described as a vastly versatile artist, bubbling with fresh and unique ideas, his musical understanding and skills have seen him eloquently diversify between creating jazz infused rhythms and classical sounds, handling orchestral arrangements, and creating his signature deep, almost meditational, dubbed sonic grooves.

Sometimes, when talking about musicians who chose to remain faceless it’s easier [read: simpler] to just start with the facts. Much respected in house and techno circles, ItaloJohnson are a Berlin based trio who release what they call ‘functional sketches’ that combine their own array of influences with a very un-complex formula; on vinyl and on their own label. They have, so far, unleashed eight stamped platter transmissions, which have all been released with the same minimal fanfare but, as their sparse and monochrome website states: “ItaloJohnson is in no way trying to reinvent the wheel, rather trying to create reduced and functional sketches which can carry emotions through a DJ and dancefloor oriented sound.”

Seemingly more than aware of their place and the impact the music they produce and release is having in certain club spaces, they’ll be appearing at WetYourSelf’s Bank Holiday celebration on Sunday 24th August in Room One alongside the WYS! Residents Cormac, Peter Pixzel and Jacob Husley. Ahead of their appearance they’ve crafted a thoughtfully rugged and essential promotional mix that will undoubtedly go a long way to learn you way more about their outlook and their music than this fact-found introduction ever could…
