The Metamorphic EP has a volcanic theme influenced by my travels to Iceland. During my time there, I saw snow covered volcanic peaks, black sand beaches and glaciers. I also visited the Lava Centre, which had simulations of volcanic activity and tectonic movement. Iceland has extraordinary land formations, and often it felt as if being on another planet. My trip was during the Summer Solstice, and I experienced 23h/day of sunlight the entire time, which was awe inspiring and surreal.  

Track three, Liquid, was made on the plane and while in Iceland. I went to an ice cream shop in downtown Reykjavik, and there was a kid who was exclaiming excitedly about the liquid nitrogen machine. Every time the machine was turned on and steaming, he would run up to the counter and shout, “Look, liquid!” His enthusiasm was contagious, and it seemed as though it connected all the patrons at the shop regardless of language barriers or cultural differences. I wanted to capture the moment, so I took a short video which I later sampled into audio, chopped up, and time stretched beyond recognition.

The EP drops on November 30th on Swamp Music which happens to be the same night I will be performing for the Purple Couch All Stars at The Black Box in Denver alongside Gladkill, PRSN, Cualli, Dillard, Av8trix, Precious Hill, Erothyme, Droplitz and Jason Burrus. Hope to see you there.

With Silence Through Universe, Mindblast brings its representation of “the non-audible” through four electronic movements between Bass and Psychedelic Music. The space that extends every second reflects almost no noise. What is it possible to hear where antimatter reigns? Is the sound produced by the encounter between two supermassive black holes is the only word of the cosmos? Mindblast’s second opus shows his aesthetic research in a space journey. Join the exploration team with these four titles between Neuro and Psychedelic.

What does the singularity of black holes looks like? The accretion disk of each supermassive gives us only a few answers. The gravitational pull does not cause any light to escape. The only element perceived on Earth and audible by Humans is the encounter between two of these space giants. What’s inside these invisible objects? Una Vez was born of a mixture between Psytrance and Psybass. Catchy and energetic, this last track leads to the end of the journey: nothingness.

Avec Silence Through Universe, Mindblast apporte sa représentation du “non-sonore” à travers quatre mouvements électroniques entre Bass et Psychedelic Music. L’espace qui s’étend chaque seconde ne reflète presque aucun bruit. Qu’est-il possible d’entendre où l'antimatière règne ? Le son produit par la rencontre entre deux trous noirs supermassifs est-il l’unique mot du cosmos ? Le deuxième opus de Mindblast montre sa recherche esthétique au cœur d'un voyage spatial. Rejoignez l’équipe d’exploration avec ces quatre titres Neuro et Psychedelic.

À quoi ressemble la singularité des trous noirs ? Le disque d’accrétion de chaque supermassif ne nous donne, pour le moment, que peu de réponses. L’attraction gravitationnelle ne laisse aucune lumière s’en échapper. Le seul élément d’analyse perçu sur Terre, audible par l’Humain, est la rencontre entre deux de ces géants spatiaux. Que se cache à l’intérieur de ces objets invisibles ? Una Vez est née d’un mélange entre Psytrance et Psybass. Entrainante et énergique, cette dernière track mène au terme du voyage : le néant.

BIO:
Halfred is the culmination of years and years of aural exploration. Originally a drummer, the Italian born sonic warrior found his roots in drumming which led him to music production, along with a degree in electronic music production at SAE, in Milan. His eclectic approach makes it hard to categorize his music and this is partially due to the fact that his sound breaks the often repetitive mold of psy music, seamlessly taking the forms of dub, hiphop, drum n bass, garage, and world music and while staying true to his signature sound and focused on the micro details, he’s constantly experimenting with the squishy and granular side of psychedelic mid-tempo, drum and bass, dubstep, psybass and all things
psychedelic. During last years, he collaborated and remixed top notch artists like Desert Dwellers, Whitebear, Tribone, Zebbler Encanti Experience, Duffrey, Tryptich and had music released on labels such as Merkaba Music, Shanti Planti, Outtallectuals, Gravitas Recordings, Wakaan and more, as well as playing many festivals and nights in the European and North-American scene, such as Boom , Modem, Hadra, Shankra, Tribal Gathering, Own Spirit, Lost Theory, Isis Garden,Street Parade, Create Culture, Infrasound, Wormhole Wednesdays and Cosmic Sinergy Final Fridays.
