Pressure.

It’s easy for me to think it comes from the outside, as if an external force is weighing on my chest. Fear of something that might happen to me in the future—often without even knowing exactly what I’m afraid of. But the truth is, most of the time, the pressure comes from within me, projected onto the outside world. As if from some past self, not realizing that the feeling has little to do with present reality.

Under the right pressure, I can manifest things that I probably wouldn’t without it. But when it becomes too much, it can block me from actually doing the things I want. It’s a thin line, and navigating it can be difficult—I sometimes get caught up in it completely.

It’s asking me to set boundaries—not only towards others but, most importantly, for myself. And to do this, I first need to take ownership of it.

Try to see where it comes from, listen to it, relax into it, and use it to your advantage—as guidance in the right direction.

TWO LANES, the brother duo of Leo and Rafa, have become known for their ability to merge classical influences with electronic music, earning support from BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM, and Triple J, while amassing over 500 million streams across streaming platforms. Their Innervision EP, which explored neoclassical, ambient, and melodic techno, set the stage for this exciting collaboration.

Recondite’s deeply unique, artistic approach to techno music has been evolving for more than a decade, establishing him as a key figure in the genre. His recent album Indifferent (October 2024) continues to deepen his exploration of atmospheric soundscapes. With releases on labels like Dystopian, Ghostly International, and his own Plangent Records, he has solidified his place as a key figure in the electronic music scene.

“We’ve been long-time fans of Recondite’s music and are excited to finally share our collaboration. It all started with a piano recording and some synth ideas we sent his way. Recondite then added his unique touch to the track, giving the beat more energy and crafting the build-up in the middle. It’s about the tension between wanting to reconnect and fearing the damage already done, being caught in a cycle of memories and self-reflection.

This track is deeply personal, a sonic expression of inner turmoil and emotional transformation. I wanted to capture that raw feeling—the moment when you realize you’ve hurt someone before and now find yourself lost in the echoes of your own mind. Outsiders is a journey through that space, blending haunting melodies, cinematic textures, and hypnotic rhythms to bring that emotion to life.

Creating this track was an intense experience, one that pushed me deeper into storytelling through sound. I focused on layering textures that feel immersive, using atmospheric synths and pulsing beats to reflect the storm inside. It’s a piece that doesn’t just live in the moment—it lingers, just like the thoughts we can’t escape.
