Halo, the new face of hip hop in 2013 has been burning up the streets with his debut album “King of Carolina.” At twenty-two the artist we have come to know as Halo still keeps is humble beginnings in mind as the man Rodney Jackson Jr. Born June 1, 1990 in the small town of Sanford, NC; Halo excelled as an entrepreneur at a young age from selling accessories to selling furniture the young man proved that he had more to offer than what his environment could provide. At twelve he displayed his passion for music when he taught himself how to play the bass guitar and began playing with his grand dad. However that was just the beginning; raised in the church Halo also played the drums and in his spare time began writing his own music. Displaying his niche for words he began to rap; with his velvet baritone voice and suave yet political messages, the only thing left was to record. Having artist such as Tupac and Marvin Gaye for inspiration there was no stopping his rise once given the opportunity to give the world a taste of real music. From sleepless nights and even longer days, Halo never stopped when it came to perfecting his debut album “King Of Carolina.”  The eleven track disc shows the diversity and eclectic flow with tracks such as ‘Thug Need Love’; a mid tempo classic r-n-b ballad that makes you remember why you fell in love. To the heavy club hitter  “Kings Presence”, Halo shows no remorse and no holding back when it comes to making his mark known.
