I know, wtf is this combo? Trust me, it WORKS! This was actually from a stream where I let the chat pick the VGM for me to remix live on stream. It ended up being a tie between Zelda and Kirby and chat was like 'do both'! So I did lol. I picked a random genre, landed on funk and started fusing Death Mountain and Gourmet Race. Pretty soon we realized that they were in the same key! A match made in Hylia. I would've never guessed these two songs worked together but man was I wrong. 

This remix did have its challenges though. One being that the tempos/styles of the original songs were quite different. Death Mountain is kind of a march style, and Gourmet Race is like a Polka? This song has 5 tempo changes, and tries to fuse both tracks into an electro house combo. Try to pay attention to the parts where I fused the melodies on top of each other's harmonies, I'm pretty proud of how those turned out!

This high energy cover of Slender Bodies Belong kicks off the Hello Yes project. Hello Yes connected with Slender Bodies while working with Emotional Oranges and the inspiration for a cover rolled in. This cover embodies the energy of Hello Yes, and is a preview into the sound listeners can expect from their debut EP coming out in 2022.

Hello Yes, the duo consisting of guitarist Mitch Bell and saxophonist Aaron Leibowitz, was born during off time on the road with electronic artist Zhu who they continue to perform and collaborate with. The sound is novel, conjuring Mitch’s smokey, yet sophisticated guitar and Aaron’s gut jerking saxophone into compositions that could be described as indie groove meets electro club. The wave of first releases draws lyrically from true relationship struggles while exploring a sonic palette that blends modern electronic sounds with classic song writing. I'm a huge "Invader ZIM" fan. So when I found out that Soapy Waffles, a group of fans, has taken it upon themselves to attempt to animate the entire second season of ZIM (which was cancelled, but not before the original actors had already recorded most of the dialogue), and since Kevin Manthei (the series composer) has been a longtime inspiration and musical deity of mine, I thought I'd both pay tribute and take a crack at replicating his instantly-recognizable sound.
