This is still WIP, it is supposed to be some atmospherical input for chooksta (<a href="http://www.soundcloud.com/chooksta" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.soundcloud.com/chooksta</a>), in case he can make use of it or any of its sound components.
Maybe I'll develop it further if I can find out how to generate interesting beats myself instead of relying on stupid premade loops.

This is a piece Rudolf "divVerent" Polzer has written, probably the core coder of the Xonotic project (www.xonotic.org). As the efforts and free time he spent on the Xonotic project have made a game possible that I have had a great deal of fun with, I offered to record his piece for him (since he doesn't really play the piano himself) in order to be able to give at least SOMETHING back to this great person.

I hope I was able to produce something you can enjoy, divVerent, thanks for all your work!

DivVerent's Sonata No.3

Unedited raw material of an improvisation that had no planning behind it beyond simply putting the recording on. I regret some tempo irregularities and several unclean passages, but all in all it captured my feelings rather well. I was led by sadnes, frustration, a bit of anger and eventually hope, and somehow I wanted to get rid of the unpleasant emotions, so I poured it into this improvisation. For me, it worked.

Farewell - to a better Place

This is an improvisation on a theme originally written by Richerd Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, called "My Romance". I just recently discovered this theme and I really love it.

This improvisation is a musical greeting to Samual. Best wishes and keep it up!

My Romance

This recording is the result of sitting down, switching recording on, and playing.

I apologize for the low sound quality, this is a midi recording using a  piano sample from Ableton live. I did midi and audio recording in parallel, but somehow the audio part of the recording got totally messed up with crackles (maybe a loose cable or some stupid warping algorithm). Personally I like the sound of my stage piano better than this sample, but it still sounds reasonably acceptable so I put it here for anyone that's interested. Even though it is midi, the piece is, as usual, totally unedited, no corrections, no filter, no effects, nothing. Enjoy!

Thanks to chooksta for making me promise to him to record something tonight, though he probably expected something different :o)

This.

This is a recording I did when I received notice a dear person has passed away after quite some while of suffering. The passing away was not unexpectedly due to very high age, yet it made me recall many nice and unforgettable moments that I shared with this person.

This tune is the first one that I applied a little bit cosmetics to, near the (a bit sudden) end I made such a horrible mis-hit of a key that it almost destroyed the entire tune. I was able to just cut it out a bit, I hope it's not very noticeable. Otherwise it's provided as-is. I was just so happy about how the emotions I put into this seem to have managed to stay in the recording when I played it back that I wanted to share it here, but that one accident just HAD to go.

Gone

All my piano improvisations are un-edited raw material, with the exception of "Gone", where I needed to cut out a terrible mis-hit of a key. For recording, I use the analog output of my Kawai MP8 stage piano.

I cannot really plan improvisations, I just sit down and play whatever comes. Whenever I try to improvise in a certain way or on a specific theme that I want to record it doesn't turn out good, so the best recordings I achieve when simply being in the mood to improvise and luckily having thought about putting recording on "just in case". Doesn't happen often, unfortunately.
