'Scenes from the four seasons' is a collection of unreleased tracks and b-sides from 2012, running through the four seasons and stopping at some intimate moments in Winter, a tranquil evening in Autumn, two seaside scenes between Spring and Summer.

I decided to have all these tracks together in this collection not only because of the common theme, but above all because, when I started working on my first modern classical album, that will be released later this year, I didn't want to left all these works incomplete, even if they were mostly expression of ideas and style still imperfect and evolving.

I'm sure you'll find a moment of peace and tranquillity in these notes, and even some passages that represents your life during the seasons, an intimate moment, as when you're at home and the snow starts falling in winter, or when you first see the seaside in spring.

I have always been fascinated by rain and a wet city scene in Zurich, Switzerland inspired me. It’s incredible how rain affects the view of a landscape; the soft mist just rising in the distance; the entire place suddenly taking on shades of blue and grey; the moving, undefined clouds in the sky. That entire place feels frozen in time, like a photo, a portrait.

A remix of Cleyra, from the Haneda/Cleyra single. This was done while I was working on mastering Cleyra, I thought to have some fun trying to sharply change the shape of the song. eg you could notice the tempo of the original version is 3/4, while is 4/4 for this remixed version. I surely could work more on this remix, a second version will come when I have some time to work on it! Hoping you'll like it :)

Cleyra [rmxv1]

This is a piano arrangement of a beautiful song by myristica. Beyond the glow is a warm song, a lovely 3/4 piece that will surelywarm the cold days of your winter. I imagined listening to this at home,while out is raining and inside the hearth is lit, playing something atthe piano. So I thought it could fit well the song's spirit to give it aloose waltz feel in the central part, while letting the sensation fromthe sorrounding ambience emerge in the end, where the piano sound getslost in the atmosphere. I hope you'll like this arrangement, I tried to mantain the theme of beyond the glow, freely changing the end and thebeginning in a way that could fit the song well.

Beyond the glow [Piano]

This is a composition based on a beautiful Cello theme composed by David Smith (aka <a href="http://soundcloud.com/oxfordambient" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">TheOxfordAmbientCollectiv</a>).

This morning I was listening to his last song, "<a href="http://soundcloud.com/oxfordambient/and-in-the-endless-night-they" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">And In The Endless Night They Shed Their Tears</a>", and I immediately thought it was a very nice improvisation; I especially loved the sound of the cello and its expressivity. Then I thought it could be even more meaningful and expressive adding another harmonic layer through an elegant and well distributed piano layer, adding a nice spacious ambient feeling to the already wonderful cello part recorded by David. I also added a layer of electronic reverse/noise effects, because I really thought they could fit the song well.
I hope you'll enjoy this collab.

This is a remix I made for Lullatone, a popular music group based in Nagoya, Japan, whose music is characterized by an innocent, child-like quality and spare, lo-fi sounds. It will be included in a compilation cd which will be released in China later this year. The track "A Slow Waltz" was originally released on 'Computer Recital' on Audio Dregs Recordings (2003).

I rearranged the song in this version for piano and strings for some live shows I could start doing in Milan by the end of May... It is a short but moving song depicting an evening marine scene. Halo - Scenes from the four seasons - 2.Nyūbai

A little ambient piece I wrote yesterday afternoon.. Sorry not to have so much time for composing music until July, but I really wanted to share something with you in a little free time from my studying.

I always thought of ambient music as a way to effectively depict soundscapes with notes and musical colors (frequencies, tones, silences).

I’ll listen to this with closed eyes and I’ll see sounds painting a landscape in the imaginary space. Like emerging from the deepness of your thoughts, and sorrounding you with its presence, because it's you who has been creating it. Music conceals places in its notes.

I called that place "The wastelands", a distant landscape brought back to our time for a little moment, as it were while the wind blew in the cloudy sky and the sun set over the horizon of the open fields.

Just like a dream, at the end you open your eyes and there's no trace left, if not a subtle sensation of having been there, somewhere, sometime...
