Hamacide and Chain of Lakes remixed by Prefuse 73 for "Hamacide: Mighty Little Machine Remixes" album on Oilworks 2011.

Statues, Psalms, and Wars (Prefuse 73 Wars Remix)

The creative forces behind Hamacide (Yusuke Hama) and Chain of Lakes (Kyle Rasche) began their association through a mutual friend in Brooklyn, New York.  Following a string of emails, a whiskey-driven 4-track recording of one of Rasche's poems became their first collaborative effort.  Featured on Hamacide's 2010 release "Mighty Little Machine," the track "Statues, Psalms, and Wars" was subsequently remixed by Prefuse 73 for release on Japanese, underground hip-hop label Oilworks.  Despite spotty internet connections and an eleven hour time difference between China and the United States, the two managed to complete a record via file transfers between their respective homes in Shanghai and Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Jio and an album to follow were written and recorded in just under a year.
