پس از پیروزی انقلاب بهمن ۱۳۵۷، برای مدت‌ها تلویزیون جمهوری اسلامی ایران، تصویرهای پرواز بالگردها بر فراز تظاهرات ۱۷ شهریور در میدان ژاله (شهدا) تهران را به عنوان نمادی از خشونت حکومت پهلوی علیه انقلابیون معرفی می‌کرد.‏
