Bassiani resident Hamatsuki cooks up an hour of flirty electronics for Podcast number 138. This one’s an ambient riff on his casual hybrid of optimistic and laid back sounds. Over the last years, Mamuka Tskhadaia has become a Horoom staple, perfecting a formula that reliably keeps a crowd of avid ravers in his fold. For this latest live recording straight from the club, the DJ/producer brings an exciting mix of fresh melodies, contemplative segues, incongruent rhythms and auspicious flair to his hour-long exploration in sound.

Bassiani resident Hamatsuki and Tel-Aviv based selector Anna Haleta team up for the latest MUSAR Show episode, delivering a two hours b2b adventure of hybrid electronic sounds, melodic electro, futuristic textures and fuzzy acid.

Hamatsuki has become a Horoom staple, perfecting a formula that reliably keeps a crowd of avid ravers in his fold. The DJ/producer is known for his fresh melodies and deep futuristic, contemplative segues, incongruent rhythms and auspicious flair to his exploration of sound.


Born in Ukraine, and based in Tel-Aviv since mid 90's, Anna started to organize raves in Jerusalem under Pacotek, a project that literally shaped the underground scene of Israel.
Standard is not what defines Anna Haleta's sound and her technique behind the decks. She has made some waves with her sets at Closer, Tresor and Berghain, forming eclectic blends from House, Electro to Breakbeat while always containing a high-energy club attitude along the way.

Back to Georgia and Tbilisi this week with the one and only Hamatsuki, resident DJ at the infamous Bassiani. Exponent of a versatile DJing style that runs the gamut from rugged techno wares to propulsive acid, via liquid electro, techno, house and everything in between, Hamatsuki treats us to a wild and effusive two hours of radical obliqueness, steering us constantly into murky waters, where life swarms and the metamorphic magic happens. Stacking crazy frantic wares one after the other in a Fantasia-like symphony of broken grooves, raging uptempo and hair-raising buildups, here comes one of Tbilisi’s key figures with a massive, uncompromising blast-off of a set. Sonic boom inbound.

Next up comes a very special set recorded live at Bassiani/Horoom’s ten year anniversary in early October. Having made common cause with the club in its infancy, longtime resident Hamatsuki (Mamuka Tskhadaia) and Morevi Records key figure Skyra (Sandro Papaskiri) are a perfect vector for the club’s vision. These two homegrown talents are legends in their own right, and well versed in their musical skill, teaming up on occasion and getting people moving to the sound of their surging beats. The community built around them and their Georgian confrères has grown exponentially since casual beginnings on the ground in Tbilisi, and the timeless mark they’ve left on the soul of the city is testament to its creative spirit. From chilled-out releases to laid back sets, the duo have an innate feeling for the other that complements and sparks surprising new ideas, downtempo house that sounds as fresh today as it did back then. For Bassiani Podcast 235, the pair flex their well-trained muscle and deliver an hour of groovy and undulating sounds, unbent rhythms for the dancing class. Tbilisi energy to the letter. And here’s to another ten.
