Clouds

Monster is my 2nd 'Song in a Sitting', where once a week, I create a song from scratch in one session and release it that day.

I didn't really spend a lot of time on this one since it has been a pretty rough week. Melbourne went back into lockdown and I've had way too much work on. BUT, I got it out there, and that's the main thing. I'll be back next week with my third 'Song in a Sitting'.

For one to go through the initial stages of awakening, about the world, its illusion, and about themselves. To contemplate it and sit with the feeling, only to find themselves going into a dance til 6 am and heading home feeling confused again.

Scene Survival Episode 1 - The Fam Interview

This track is really just a bit of fun. Good learning experience n practice in production thats for sure. My friend and I made it over a weekend almost a year ago, and I've been mucking around with it a bit. Everything was done in one take, hence why its a little nonchalant. Seriously not serious.

House, trap, feel-good-hit-of-the-summer: its packed with a bunch of different generetic vibes (thats totally a word now). Certainly a groovey one. An eclectic bunch of ideas mashed together to make a crazy mahem that is Take 1.

Take 1

Music is a doorway to the soul. The ear that listens and the heart that feels stand untarnished behind the thinking mind. Sounds woven into song can enchant the life-force of any being that can feel and hear vibration. 
 
Hamish’s sound exemplifies this, not only with the musicality, but with his lyricisms and poetic word play. Exploring landscapes of existentialism, Hamish prods some of life’s mysteries with a speculative stick. If you were to take a metaphorical mixing bowl: add a heap of energy; a handful of philosophy; a sprinkling of intimacy; and a pinch of soul, you might just have yourself the Hamish McNab sonic experience. Soft sensual rock n roll with a kick.
Coming into this reality in the leafy green suburbs of the place that has been named “Melbourne, Australia”, Hamish began his musical journey strumming classical numbers on the six-string. Shortly after discovering the phenomena of 'rock n roll’, he was quick to pick up the electric guitar which lead him on a mellifluous path with many bands.
The recent demise of the psychedelic-soul-funk-rock outfit Wax Jax and the Midnight Snax left Hamish ready for change, taking to the road as a solo act and diving head first into the pools of trepidation and exhilaration.
Influences come from all around, but if asked to put into a list he would say some might include: Nirvana, Ekhart Tolle, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, his family, Russell Brand, Pink Floyd, Alan Watts, Queen, The Universe and Tenacious D.
Having written a plethora of personal pieces, Hamish is ready to hit the studio (aka the bedroom) to share his songs with humanity (..and everyone else who’ll listen)
