A beat I helped a friend with. I played the guitar part and we just went from there and helped each other work it out. I've never made music like this, so it was pretty fun. It's simple, but it sounds good, and I'm proud of it. It reminds me of walking through New York on a sunny morning. I'll probably use it as a backing track to practice soloing over.

Urban Chill Beat

Oh god, this takes me back. This is a track that was supposed to be on my old band Corrupt What's Left's album Bellum Sacrum, which never came out nor got finished. This track itself was written about a year ago in the form of a techno song with some metal beats that eventually progressed to where it is now. The last breakdown is from another song we (I) made called Flaxxy that was also going to end up on the album somewhere minus that specific breakdown. 

You'll realize this mix doesn't have much bass guitar in it. This is because the mix sounds very sloppy with it too high, considering how choppy and robotic the song already is. This is one of the hardest songs I have edited in the past and still remains so today. There also isn't any lead guitar, but it doesn't sound necessary to me or anyone else I've shown. I may eventually add vocals to this track, but I'm not 100% sure because it sounds fine without them.

More fun facts about this song:
-From 1:11 until about 2:10 in the song was originally in a demo we had called "Pregnancy Scare".
-This song was written in Drop Ab on a six string when first recorded, then moved up to drop A for the demo. Once I acquired a seven string, we dropped it to Gb, but this version displays it back in the drop A tuning. This time, however, it is on a seven string (which doesn't make much of a difference). I also believe at one point a drop F version was started.
-The various titles for this track (in order) include "Dub Wub Hub Bub Grub", "Pregnancy Scare", "Splinter", and "Death of Knowledge".
-The only thing that has NOT changed minus a few measures is the drum track. Since it was programmed originally in the style of our then-drummer Cody, I just put new samples to it every time I changed it. 
-The drum and bass break before the final breakdown is VERY similar to "Danger: Wildman" by The Devil Wears Prada.
-I still have all the demos of this track minus the one in drop Gb. It sucked anyways.
-I could possibly be re-recording "Python" in the near future. For those of you who know what song that is, you're probably soiling yourself right now.
