rough idea of a chiptune style track I'm working on for uni. The track is an 8-bit realisation of a song called "The Middleton Tooth Museum" by Advice From a Caterpillar.

Caterpillar Island (Demo)

Two tracks I composed for a Uni project. They both use the same basic chord progression as part of the assignment.

The two songs represent a viewpoint of the Earth from space. "Orbiting" was created using only quantising to represent the computerisation and technological element of space exploration. The second track "Observing" uses more live sounding instrumentation and was tracked using played-in sequences, including an improvised synth solo which represents viewing the planet from a human's eyes in space.

In summary the two pieces provide two different perspectives, human and computer, of the views from space.

This is part of a concept EP/album I am currently working on for my side-project "Mountaineer"

This track is about the main character wandering through a dark tunnel inside the mountain, unsure of what lays ahead. It is supposed to convey confusion, uncertainty and doubt of the path ahead as well as self-motivation and optimisim as he forces himself to complete his journey to the end of the hollows.

My name is Hamlyn.
I play saxophone in a band called Advice from a Caterpillar.
I have a side project called Mountaineer, or MNTNR. More on that soon.
