“Originally hailing from a suburb of Manchester, England, it wasn’t until he relocated to the Western fringe of the Canadian Prairies that Rob Holt truly began to nurture his musical spark. Cultivating the innovative roots of his birthplace by fronting the progressive rock trio Wired Bliss for half a decade, the band provided an ideal platform for Holt to cut his teeth and polish his chops during his formative years within the Calgary music scene. Following the amicable disbanding of Wired Bliss in 2010 Rob Holt continued his solo musical explorations under the moniker of Hammy James, which is a nod to a pet pseudonym he’s used since childhood. This period was amplified by once again returning to his homeland to attend the prestigious School of Sound Recording (SSR) in Manchester, the premier institution of its kind in the UK, where he expanded his knowledge of music production from top industry professionals. When it comes to musical prowess Rob Holt is equally proficient on the keyboard as he is with a guitar, and juxtaposes soulful, bluesy vocals over electronically composed rhythms to create a sound that helps transcend the moment and haunts you for days.”
