HAMSES - SYSTEM FAIL EP (OUT ON 2ND OF DECEMBER 2019)

Johannes Melchus, who got his artist name HAMSES from a former school friend, based on the Egyptian pharaoh "Ramses", is a 24-year-old Drum and Bass artist from Austria. From his early years, he was influenced by pioneers of the Jump Up-Scene such as Dominator, Hedex, Simula and more, which made him become a big fan of the music pretty quickly. Because of his past experience as a drummer for over a decade, Johannes's main focus in music production is on rhythm, flow, and danceable patterns in his tracks. That's why he pays so much attention to the little details, to make the whole song work in the particular way that he has in his head. But HAMSES isn't just about music. He also made waves in the culinary world, showcasing his cooking skills on social media which earned him the nickname "Gordon Hamses", inspired by real chef Gordon Ramsay. That name has become his trademark by now and is also used as the characteristic title for his 100% mixes. With no doubt, Johannes brings the same passion and creativity to the kitchen as he does to the studio. Since 2020, the young Austrian has been steadily building a loyal following on SoundCloud which also led to his first gig in Vienna. After that, he released the tunes "Tear Off" together with Fourtex and "The Purge" together with Skydrill, which made him a much more well-known name in the Austrian Drum and Bass scene. Finally, in 2022, the first bookings in Belgium arrived, and Johannes really started to see the progress he had made so far, being able to play his own tunes in front of foreign crowds and meeting other DnB producers. All that gave him even more motivation to keep doing what he loves and continue to learn and get better.
