I can’t find a song about how I exactly feel
But truth be told I haven’t looked very closely
I’m very afraid of embarrassing myself again
so I find myself writing but not looking

Is it appropriate or totally not ok

When I’m nervous I get very wordy but if feels like for
every million words I only get to say ten
Then again could you imagine if I could say all of them

Life’s weird and it’s difficult not to get hysterical
But I appreciate your existence in this world
I think of the master of none’s holy tree 
perhaps we can still be optimistic and believe 
That it’s not the grand finale
so when a chapter ends, the next one begins

When I read the book “Rape of Nanjing”,
Watched a documentary about Zhang Chunru,
I decided to write something for the whole event.
The war, the impact on the time and its continuation to the present... 
"I remember…" is a phrase which is frequently stated by survivors
I use it as the name of this piece. 

Fragments of memory... 
Violent horror… 
The survivors of grief and silence, 
Time has been passing, but the wounds have always been there. 
Time and space intertwined, deformation... 
The pendulum material in this piece sometimes symbolizes time,  
sometimes turns into the pace of the army’s march. 
Time compressed or enlarged 
Those knives seem to have been given the right during the historical process… 
Zhang Chunru, who has been hacked in this peace era by those “knives” 

I used the melody of the Nanjing folk song “Jasmine" of the end of the piece, to mixed in memories maybe it represents a weak hope… 
What the piece wants to express is a kind of thinking and status 
No hatred  
No emotion 

People can't live in the past, but forgetting the past will make the same mistakes. 
Time will not be ended, memory will be continued, what will happen to the future of this memory? Nobody knows…
