A Dream By is a journey into the minds of some of the most unique and inspiring artists of our time—pioneers defining the sounds of our generation.

We are honored to kick off this series with Jesse Trinidad, an Andalusian artist whose work I’ve admired for years. A true curator at heart, Jesse creates electronic music rooted in reflection, blending influences from his home—caught between the raw spirit of North Africa and the romantic, contemporary energy of Europe.

When I asked Jesse to contribute, he was hesitant at first, feeling uninspired by DJ mixes at home. But as we discussed the concept of "A Dream By," he began to reflect on his own relationship with dreams.

This mix explores that journey, like moving through different stages of sleep—vulnerable, unfinished, polished, fragmented, and sometimes harmonious. It reflects the ebb and flow of the subconscious, much like dreams themselves. It is an invitation to dive into Jesse's world, to experience the soundscapes and unfinished ideas that reside in his music folder.

Ditian Ditian Ditian!

I first stumbled across Ditian's music in 2016, thanks to his brilliant collaboration with another artist I’m obsessed with, Kevin Di Serna. Since then, his sound has kept me hooked—and a little perplexed, honestly. Every time I hear one of his tracks, I’m left wondering how on earth he pulls off such otherworldly sounds with the same instruments we all have access to (Listen to Expired Drama on Innervisions to fully understand what I mean). It’s like he’s got a secret hookup from a synth dealer on a distant planet or someone crafting gear in the quantum realm. Who knows? Your guess is as good as mine.

Either way, I couldn’t be more excited to introduce Ditian as the second artist in our Dream series. The idea is to dive deeper into the minds of these artists, showcasing music that goes beyond the club-floor anthems they’re known for. We’re here to explore a different side of their sound and see what else bubbles up from their creative depths.

Ditian, being Ditian, said an hour wasn’t enough—he needed more time to tell his story. So here we are, with 78 minutes of pure sonic dreamscapes, perfectly paired with hypnotic visuals and colors constructed by a dear collaborator, Adam Garbutt who also seems to have access to a different set of tools.

For our third and final of 2024 Dream, we’re diving headfirst into Adrian’s world of primal meticulousness, matched with the arresting visuals from Adam Garbutt.

Adrian is a sonic craftsman who is more often than not the culprit of the IDs I’m always searching for in my favorite mixes. He truly builds a musical world that takes you to another place.
