When I first heard this piece by Hang Massive I instantly heard subtle trap grooves flowing in and around their beautiful Hand Pan melodies. This was mid-winter 2021 Melbourne lockdown. In my morning mycelium walks, the sun kisses my skin and blesses me with its warmth.

Music bloomed hope in me for the Sun's Rays to once again shine on humanity as it passed through its darkest passage of the pandemic. And so it seems fitting now as we move on beyond the most challenging parts of the pandemic, for this sunlight to shine for you with its release.

I played this Ecstatic Dance journey live at Jarans, Koh PhaNgan.

This feels like a milestone for me as a professional DJ.
Up until a few months ago, i was playing a slower edition of ED.
Lately i've been including more intense, faster and tribal tracks, and keeping the intensity for longer.

This is the most intense set I've ever played, for the largest number of people, and I had such much fun !!

The music I used to play was more 'serious', 'shamanic' and 'sophisticated',  but now I enjoy including some commercial and silly tracks.

I was especially excited to play 3 of my own tracks and witness how people responded.

Recorded live Nov 6, 2020, celebrating the release of Ganucheau’s album “Variations on a Playground." The influence this music has had on me is hard to overstate. I consider Ganucheau's sound and this album in particular to be the core of my experience at Priceless, one that I deeply enjoy sharing with others at the event. And now, we can all share it at home thanks to its release.

The evening was intended to be full of soothing music, as in the US we were in the 4th night of not having election results - it had been quite a week and we all needed something other than the news and doomscrolling for a few hours. My set attempts to channel the mix of emotions I've been feeling over the last months, give a little rise and fall, and end on a soft note. Like we do in the forest.

Ganucheau Album Release Party - Nov 6 2020

Ahead of their full-length album Radius LP, Bleecker and Hang Massive drop
a second single that widens the scope of their electro-acoustic collaboration.
On “Polyrhythm”, pointed hang notes set the scene for some sharp-angled
drum breaks which Bleecker twists and contorts through a broad range of
effects processing. The track follows a progressive energy arc in which the
playing and the programming move with purpose and energy, without ever
distorting the meditative qualities inherent in both the hang itself and this
particular musical partnership.

Hang Massive’s Danny Cudd (UK) and Markus Offbeat (Sweden) have been
pushing the mesmerising sound of Hang playing since the turn of the
millennium. Bleecker has likewise been on a continued journey into electronic
music production. An accomplished producer and music educator, he has
appeared on labels such as Apple Pips and Audio Culture (alongside Lrusse)
as well as embarking on other more secretive, experimental musical ventures.

“Polyrhythm” appears ahead of the release of the Radius album later this year.

Since 2011 Hang Massive have shaped the global handpan music scene, pioneering a successful electronic act with a magnetizing live show. Blending dream-like acoustic and upbeat electronic sounds, their unique style inspires a worldwide audience. 

The magic began in 2011 with their first music release and video “Once Again”, which gained wide renown and was watched over 60 million times online. Its viral success introduced people around the world to a captivating new instrument and saw the emergence of a global fan base devoted to this groundbreaking musical project.

The founding members, Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat, met on the shores of Goa, India, forging their creative partnership in its vibrant international arts scene. Over the following years, the Hang Massive project evolved from busking on the streets of European cities to performing festival line-ups and high profile music venues around the world. Today the duo split their time between their home studio in Goa and touring globally. 

Dedicated Dzogchen practitioners for over 10 years, Danny and Markus’ music is a direct expression of the empowerments received from their Root Guru Candice Rinpoche, Lineage Successor of Venerable Wangdor Rimpoche (see www.openintelligenceandlove.org). Their committed practice has supported not only their music to flourish but also a harmonious friendship and vibrant creative partnership. 

Continually experimenting over the years, the duo released a wide range of hang inspired music, EPs, albums and videos in collaboration with a stellar list of producers and musicians. 

2018 saw the release and great success of their latest album “Luminous Emptiness.”  The powerful collaboration features standout tracks like “End of Sky” and “The Secret Kissing of the Sun and the Moon,” which has amassed almost 12 million views online. 

During the Luminous Emptiness Tour from 2018–2019, they performed sellout gigs across Europe, the UK and South America bringing fans a mesmerizing new audio-visual experience. 

With an upcoming album on the horizon, plus a global tour and program of international festivals, we can expect exciting new evolutions from Hang Massive in the next years.
