Avicii’s "Levels” combined with a bunch of Rolling Stones songs, most notably ”Gimme Shelter".

Gimme Levels (Rolling Stones vs. Avicii)

This mash-up combines Double Trouble & Rebel MC's "Street Tuff" from 1989 with Joni Mitchell's 1970 song "Big Yellow Taxi".

In 1989, I was a 15 year old intellectual pop nerd, who looked down on all the "modern" dance music who was released during that period. "Street Tuff" changed all that – I was completely blown away by it.

I didn't discover Joni Mitchell until my late 20's, but we've had a love affair ever since. 

I made this mash-up back in 2004, short after "Beatles Mash-up Medley" was released. The medley  was quite a struggle to finish, but making this comparatively simple mix was pure fun! My first mix in Ableton Live, this took only 3-4 hours to complete. No a capellas nor instrumentals were used in the making of this mash-up – it's 100% made out of ordinary CD tracks. What may sound as a synthesizer in the end part (see timed comment) is in fact Joni Mitchells vocie transposed two octaves or so.
