Lore of the Wild was an audio storywalk for Lesnes Abbey Woods co-created by Bernadette Russell and Sophie Austin commissioned through a partnership between Metal and London Borough of Bexley for Estuary 2021.

Lore of the Wild invites you to hear tall tales and true stories. Hear songs and sounds from the human and non-human inhabitants of Lesnes, as you walk through this ancient woodland listening to the tracks on your smart phone.

As you journey the route you will hear from the woodland inhabitants and be invited to connect with, observe and interact with the environment. Look out for the faces in the trees, make a decision at the crossroads, experience the oak tree dance, share wisdom with the Green Man and feel a part of the ancient past and the infinite future.

"Wild Theatre is a collaboration between
Rebekah Wild and Gerhard Picher. Working internationally, they collaborate with other theatre companies, and tour their own shows
in which they work on all aspects of the production, from designing and building to devising to touring.

The piece they presented at Suspense, a ‘visual poem’ called
Stonebelly, possessed a trance-like hypnotic power. Magnified by Hannah Marshall's specially composed score, it lured the audience smoothly and effectively into its world of dreams and memories, a place inhabited by discarded and forgotten things scavenged from the far beaches of New Zealand and the flea markets of Vienna.....When I emerged, slightly disorientated, into the foyer of the Little Angel, I could feel the last of the sand falling and settling in my head. What an amazing dream."

A Track from 'Wild Life' by The Ding Foundation with Amelia Pimlott, Joey Holden, Chloe Purcell, Miranda Porter & Angela de castro. Toured in 2017. Maybe we'll tour again. This track happened as the set transformed from a woman's flat into a weird fluffy landscape.

One of the pieces of music for Norden Farm Arts Centre's Christmas show 2018 - The Fir Tree - A Moomin's christmas story, following the journey of Moomin papa and Moomin troll on their journey to find The Fir Tree. The 6th Chakra connects to the Pineal Gland which sits in the centre of your head / brain. It's connected with vision, intuition, imagination, seeing and feeling beyond the material world around you. Light exists within our bodies in the form of photon activity in the cells. Perhaps one of the reasons we dream in light and colour when our eyes are shut? Our ability also to use our inner eye, and to see things that come to us as images, thoughts and perceptions, is translated through a sense of awareness and clarity, both of oneself and of the wider world of consciousness that we are part of.

The 5th Chakra connects to the thyroid, parathyroid, jaw, neck, mouth, tongue, and larynx. It is around the base of the neck, just above the Heart Chakra.
It extends from the heart chakra because it is connected to speaking truth, singing, calling, being heard, and being expressly yourself. It has been associated with self expression, where compassion and wisdom (truth) are in balance through both speaking and listening. It is also the place from which vibration in the form of humming, singing and speaking is made and felt in the body. Being connected to the mouth where there are many glands for environmental protection, the throat chakra is also important for healing. Healing of the body, emotions, past, and letting go through sound, crying out & breath.

The Heart chakra is associated with love, compassion, relationships, a sense of belonging and connection in the world. It is connected with intimacy. It is the start of upper chakras, and enables the giving and receiving of love, unconditional acceptance to and from others, and to oneself. It is located in the centre of the chest above or near the physical heart. It is associated with the heart and lungs, the cardio-vascular system. Breath serves to greatly assist and support the heart chakra, as with all the others.

The heart chakra serves us and all we are connected to, provides the space from which all people can loosen and shake off the insecurities of separated self (ego). Enabling us to experience a higher and deeper sense of belonging to the world, each other and the multiverse.

The Solar Plexus chakra - between the navel and the bottom of the rib cage represents the higher of the lower 3 chakras. It's place is near the Solar plexus - also the celiac plexus - a complex system of nerves within the body that form a major part of the autonomic nervous system. It is connected with the gut, and digestive system, glands and muscles. The Solar plexus chakra is associated with will, energy, drive, emotions and the ego, sense of self & self esteem - also seen as the inner flame, inner gem or jewelled city. It enables us to ask for our needs, and wants, the sense of purpose to bring transformation to our lives. It is also associated with 'warrior' energy and fire.
