I recorded the first Junglesbian mix a bit over a year ago. It was the first DJ mix I ever recorded & released & quite honestly, probably one of the first times I managed to mix for an hour without fucking up super egregiously. Although I cringe at some of its blends & transitions, I still regard it pretty fondly because of the searching quality I hear in it. Listening back, it sounds like I’m chasing something, like my head is in the clouds & my eyes are on the horizon. I don’t really know what I’m looking for but I know I haven’t found it.

Junglesbian 2 comes crashing back to Earth. I’m somewhere in New York & Kingston & London all at the same time but also nowhere. I made it inside the dancehall but the dancehall is a wormhole to hell & I’ve crossed the event horizon. I’m fighting the ghost of Lee “Scratch” Perry after getting too high. I’m playing a game of cat & mouse with the devil, & I’m the mouse & then I’m the cat & then I’m the mouse & then I’m the cat. I must not fear, fear is the Mindkiller.  I’m going to put on an iron shirt & chase the devil out of earth. I will electrocute a soundboy.
