I am filled with joy to introduce Mama Beats on Episode 2 of Délika Radio. Mama Beats aka Dominique Soma is a purveyor of discerningly curated cultural experiences. An advocate for equity and authenticity with a steady hand on the pulse of the Johannesburg underground music scene, she believes quality and artistic integrity are the marks of true artists. Her roots are planted firmly in Hip Hop where she has played a key role in the inception and growth of movements and events within the South African music scene.

Her contagious passion and energy in combination with her vision to explore greater depths within music led to the creation of @weheartbeat a platform dedicated to the electronic beat scene.

Musically, she traverses the eclectic world of hip hop, soul, and R&B, infusing her sets with a gauzy electronic touch that transports her listeners on a vibrant sonic expedition. Her seamless blend of genres pays homage to an international tapestry of influences, resulting in an all-encompassing positive vibe that’s sure to uplift and energize audiences.

I present to you Djéwi which means to heal in St Lucian Kwéyòl. This mix is especially important to me as it marks the first mix produced since going to my mother's homeland, St Lucia, which opened many portals within me. I feel highly grateful to have made the journey home. I hope this mix brings many rewards and calm moments, this one truly feels special.
