As a founder & co founder of the FLINTA* collective LAYERS, these two Berlin artists are standing up for more equality in the music industry. they host events and showcases all over Europe with only FLINTA* line ups and organize DJ workshops.

limbic.sis - is a boundary-pushing DJ and producer known for her captivating blend of progressive house and mesmerizing acid sounds. With a knack for transporting listeners on a sonic journey, she weaves hypnotic beats, ethereal melodies, and pulsating rhythms into an unforgettable experience. 

Fraenz - developed a passion for electronic music early on. As a DJ she enjoys combining different styles from low paced techno via euphoric vocal soundscapes to powerful House, whilst focusing on multilayered grooves and creating an immersive atmosphere from a blend between old school and contemporary sounds.

SEVEN House Mix 009: Bae2Bae

Ich weiß nicht, wann genau es angefangen hat. Vielleicht war es dieser erste flirrende Ton, kaum greifbar, fast wie ein Gedanke, der durch einen halbdunklen Raum schwebt. Société - Pale Drifter, sagt mir jemand neben mir. Alles ist noch weich, langsam, organisch. Kein Beat, nur Andeutung. Ich spüre, wie sich etwas aufbaut. 

Dann - plötzlich - der erste Kick. Dezent, aber unübersehbar. Etwas in mir richtet sich auf. Ich merke: Ich bin angekommen.
Der Raum lebt. Die Musik beginnt zu wechseln - nicht abrupt, eher wie ein Strom, der die Richtung ändert. Dub schleicht sich ein, und mit ihm dieser reduzierte Groove, der mehr fragt als antwortet. 
Und dann: Brass Destruction - laut, mutig, völlig ungeniert. 

Es ist dieser Moment, in dem etwas kippt. Die Zurückhaltung fällt, die Energie wird anders. Körperlicher. Der Groove packt uns - nicht aggressiv, eher verspielt, mit einem Hauch Wahnsinn.
Als Static Rhythm: Control kommt, wird es ernst. Die Drums sind härter, schärfer. Mein Körper folgt, ohne zu fragen. Ich tanze jetzt nicht mehr, ich reagiere. Der Dancefloor ist keine Fläche mehr, sondern etwas, das pulsiert und mich mitnimmt.

Und dann - der Bruch. Kein harter Cut, aber ein Aufatmen. House. Klassisch. Akkorde wie Lichtstrahlen, Vocals wie Umarmungen. Ich erkenne die Stimme sofort - Deborah Cox. Ihre Wärme trifft mich unerwartet tief. Plötzlich ist all das hier nicht mehr nur Musik, sondern Erinnerung.

Als der letzte Ton verklingt, bleibe ich kurz stehen. Ich schaue mich um - wir alle haben etwas durchquert. Nicht nur ein Set, sondern eine Geschichte. Eine, die zwischen Tiefe und Euphorie pendelte, zwischen innerem Echo und äußerem Rausch.

Ich lächle und gehe langsam raus.

In den kommenden Wochen teilen wir einige unserer liebsten Live-Mitschnitte mit euch, direkt von unseren Bühnen.
Den Anfang macht @carii_d mit ihrer Aufnahme von der Radarstation. Ihr Set bringt eine feine Auswahl ihrer House-Platten mit – geprägt von einer Mischung aus Ambient, Triphop, Techhouse, Deephouse und Breaks. Inspiration holt sich Cari bei ihren House-begeisterten Freund*innen und und der kleinen, aber leidenschaftlichen Szene in Rostock.
Und Cari war nicht nur hinter den Decks, sondern auch hinter der Bar ein fester Teil des Teams. Danke, dass du das Sägewerk mit deinem Sound und deinem Spirit bereichert hast!

What a Playground is a platform run by @lenabrecht aiming to feature emerging artists who share her passion for various facets of House music. A space of warm tunes, soft vibes, energetic melodies and new encounters. 

What a Playground aims to create an open and safer space for especially FLINTA* and BIPoC artists, encouraging them to play first sets to an appreciative, curious and diverse crowd. Curating DIY gatherings since summer 2022, the format is not only about creating pleasure and joy, but also about caring for each other. During each gathering we invite everybody to support a trusted organization whose work helps underrepresented people.

Here on SoundCloud sets from our community will be shared. Furthermore, this accounts aims to push the visibility of FLINTA* and BIPoC producers/artists.

What a Playground was co-initiated by @josi_ane who's focussing on different projects since August 2024. Thanks for sharing your energy, time and passion with us.
