Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Slam continue their prolific activity in 2017 with their new 4 tracker, The Sanctuary EP. 

A year of relentless touring hasn’t stopped the Soma label heads from firing on all cylinders with each release, and this latest EP sees the duo turn up the heat once more.

The EP starts off with Conduction, a heady mix of crafted Techno and strong, tripped out melodic rhythms. The rigorous Rotation is up next and goes full tilt, drawing on the main sequenced tones to drive home a powerful and reactionary affair. Slam are always ones for creating great synergy within their releases and do so proficiently as the EP goes deeper with Convection. Subtle, modulating synths lead the charge and perfectly crafted percussive elements remain steadfast throughout. The duo close the EP with the title track Sanctuary. A vibrant, affair packed with pulsating tonality, as classic synthesis methods are used to immense effect.

If you've come across Amelie Lens' all-new fabric presents mix, then the name of Ahl Iver shall definitely ring a bell. In addition to a forthcoming appearance at the next Exhale party in Antwerp in February 2020, where he'll get to share the stage with Richie Hawtin, Helena Hauff, Kobosil, Stephanie Sykes and the whole LENSKE family, new sensation Ahl Iver is undeniably on the cusp of big things, and his debut EP, 'Haunted Patterns', sets the tone in gutsy fashion.

The opening track '7AM' features a punchy gabber kick and rush, hard-hitting drums and a healthy dose of slimy acid squelch to leave you dazed and confused for a while. Adding his ever efficient spin to the original, LENSKE mainstay Milo Spykers reworks the groove onto straightforward clubby railway as he sure knows well how to subdue the dancers through the most wildly enjoyable ankle-twisting/brain-melting manoeuvres.

As its name suggests the title-track 'Haunted Patterns' is a spooky dance floor affair. Allowing a 4/4 hell to break loose on the basement while enveloping it in further hypnotic synths and intense cosmic vibrations. Lovers of classic Altern-8 style hardcore shall find the perfect outlet to their headbanging fantasies in the euphoria-inducing 'Rave Simulator'. "The name Hans Bouffmyhre was born in the summer of 2006, when a group of friends decided to start their own techno night in a dark basement in Paisley, Scotland. The first night was a massive success and the rest is now history. 15 years later Hans Bouffmyhre is an established artist within the worldwide techno scene. Having released music on some of the worlds most esteemed techno labels like Soma Records, Electric Deluxe, Perc Trax, Suara and others. Meanwhile his own label Sleaze Records goes from strength to strength, firmly stapled as one of the best techno labels in the UK.

Hans has been lucky enough to play regular DJ sets at some of the biggest and most well known clubs in the world, from the infamous Berghain in Berlin, to Melkweg in Amsterdam, Rex Club in Paris, Sub Club in Glasgow amongst many others. He is known for bringing a raw, hypnotic and energetic style. Still only in his mid 30’s and with already so much experience as a DJ, producer, label manager and party organiser, the future looks bright for Hans Bouffmyhre."
