"This Is Nothing Vol. I" is the first of its kind, as it marks a new chapter in Kuiper Noise's history. A mean and lean mechanical beast, quick to draw iron and honest from the get-go about its true purpose on Earth: to lay out the rules of engagement on the dancefloor by showcasing the bangin' skills of four different and talented techno producers. And on the 1st episode of the series no focus is wasted on superficialities.

 Instead, what we have is a condensed block of skilled music making, as sophisticated as it is infectious, reading from a distance as a proper homage to the true heroes of the techno industry: the creators. Holldën's contribution to the record — 'Pussier Than Heaven' — is a thunderous affair, bolstered by a dynamic flow which juggles hard pounding notes with intriguing stabs, groovy voice sampling with thick riding atmospheres. While Blaxad's track 'Only A Thought In Your Head' puts forward a progression of retro rave savors, propelled by floatings armies of mystic basslines and modern percussion. 

On the flipside, we have 'Illusion As A Truth' and 'Simulação de um DJ', two features carved by Portuguese techno craftsmen Ricky Cross and Raver's Diary, the first a hypnotic tirade suitable for deep night incursions and the second a persistent jam infused with modular overtones and drumkit sound play.

Techno Redux w/ ZUZANAH - 25.01.24

Swimming in deep and seemingly calm waters has turned into a kind of extreme sport in a music scene that keeps cranking up the BPMs and toughening its vibe. That's why stumbling upon EPs like the one Madrid-based producer Blovk is dropping on Gordo Trax with this "Quiescence" feels like a bit of a luxury.

From his studio, where cables snake into his modular synthesizers like injecting venom, Blovk crafts four original tracks that showcase an artist hitting his stride. It's a journey through a analog, metallic, and textural sonic landscape.

In this "Quiescence" EP, you'll find futuristic minimalism, warm and cyclical sequences resonating in an organic space, techno landscapes, and a hunger for what's to come.

Adding to the mix, there are remixes by Viels and Fase Bipolar. The Italian artist, a regular on Warm Up Recordings, serves up a beautifully rounded, ethereal remix. Meanwhile, the Fase Bipolar duo, based on Sungate Records, injects their characteristic robotic groove into a dancefloor-oriented remix.

"The name Hans Bouffmyhre was born in the summer of 2006, when a group of friends decided to start their own techno night in a dark basement in Paisley, Scotland. The first night was a massive success and the rest is now history. 15 years later Hans Bouffmyhre is an established artist within the worldwide techno scene. Having released music on some of the worlds most esteemed techno labels like Soma Records, Electric Deluxe, Perc Trax, Suara and others. Meanwhile his own label Sleaze Records goes from strength to strength, firmly stapled as one of the best techno labels in the UK.

Hans has been lucky enough to play regular DJ sets at some of the biggest and most well known clubs in the world, from the infamous Berghain in Berlin, to Melkweg in Amsterdam, Rex Club in Paris, Sub Club in Glasgow amongst many others. He is known for bringing a raw, hypnotic and energetic style. Still only in his mid 30’s and with already so much experience as a DJ, producer, label manager and party organiser, the future looks bright for Hans Bouffmyhre."
