Madloch's Sound Avenue opens the new year by showcasing new interpretations of Eric Lune's ‘Dreaming Home'. Originally released in May of 2021 as part of the Aussie artist's ‘Dreaming Home' two-track showcase, its tastefully melodic disposition proved to be a worthy follow-up to 2019's progressive anthem ‘Embers'. Now as 2022 gets underway, Sound Avenue invites Sebastian Sellares, Forty Cats and Harmonious to re-imagine ‘Dreaming Home' for the winter season.

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation of ‘Dreaming Home' is Sebastian Sellares. Also known under his previous moniker Monje, Sebastian hails from one of Argentina's most talent-rich regions in Cordoba. Since adopting his given name for his musical endeavors in 2018, Sebastian has gone on to showcase his music via UK behemoth Anjunadeep, Antrim's Or Two Strangers, GMJ and Matter's meanwhile and long-standing US imprint Proton Music. Having made his Sound Avenue debut in 2020 with a well-received rendition of ‘Union Eterna' by Matias Vilas, Sebastian now makes a welcome return to the label with a stunning take on ‘Dreaming Home'. Fluid and groovy in equal measure, it's a mix that carries the spirit of the original, while adding a peak time sensibility through driving grooves and otherworldly effects. Building beautifully across the first movement, Sebastian fragments the lead theme and reprocesses the vocal into a colourful canopy which blankets a trance inducing groove. Emotive chord changes carry a strong character into the break, perfectly setting the stage for the lead theme to work its magic. Its nostalgic musicality resonates against a backdrop of shapeshifting vocals and cosmic effects, tastefully building tension towards a classy crescendo and heartfelt finale.

Making her label debut and providing the second interpretation of ‘Dreaming Home' is Forty Cats. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Russian artist Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats has been a fixture of her country's nightlife, sharing the stage with Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Yotto, Dave Seaman and more. Christina's production debut landed three years ago via 8bit Music, and in relatively short order the Russian artist has gone on to release projects via Lane 8's This Never Happened, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Juicebox Music and Mango Alley. Now adding Sound Avenue to her resume, Forty Cats debuts on the label with a heady rendition of ‘Dreaming Home'. Opting for a distinctly modern approach, the Russian artist reshapes the track into a collage of groove-centric, tripped-out audio. 

The release concludes with Harmonious making his label debut with the third and final interpretation of ‘Dreaming Home'. Based in Hasselt, the Belgian artist first emerged in 2017 with a release via Nie Wieder Schlafen, before going on to find a more permanent home on Jelly For The Babies' RYNTH and The Purr, where he has recorded two originals and three remixes since 2020. Although relatively early into his journey as a producer, Harmonious has already been highly regarded for his ability to blur genres and create emotional storyboards that not only work well on a dance floor but touch the heart and mind on a deeper level. Now bringing this uncanny ability to Sound Avenue, Harmonious makes his label debut with a gorgeous take on ‘Dreaming Home'.

Release Info: 
We are delighted to welcome Sassa to Lost on You, with his new " Fade To Grey EP". Sassa needs no introduction as her sound is universally known.

On his debut, Sassa introduces himself with an excellent piece that gives the album its title, "Fade To Grey", an impressive rework of the original Visage - Fade To Grey where the melodic techno elements are well present. The track uses a deep groove as its foundation, underpinned by deep bass and smooth synth chords where the vocals and Visage's signature lyrics unified by a deep kick drum and dark atmospheric emotion gradually work their way to the top. The composition climaxes by adding recurring percussive elements and soft drenched melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture to create an artfully crafted work of art.

The melodic soundscapes of the second track 'What It Was' round off this spectacular release. Sassa's influences are immediately evident, as subtle free-form concepts drift through the percussive-inspired instrumentations. Undulating melodies travel along with a deep kick that anchors an aural set-up to create a special moment of sonic infusion, complemented by an impressive groove that will leave a mark on your aural perception. Impressively textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodically infused bassline provide the foundation for this inspired piece to unfold in delayed glory. To add even more virtuosity to "What it Was" Chris Severe is on vocals making this track an essential dancefloor track.

To finish this masterpiece, Sassa delivers "Astra" a collaboration with singer MATRU. The duo delivers a melodic, break-infused mix for the ages. Their Astra is driven by pulsating bass and tight drums as the two combine to speak. Like something from yesteryear, but with a totally fresh sound, this massive romp conf ined with a line of synths that dominate the whole time and elevate the amounts of energy increasing the momentum with lucid and stripped back elements, before the energetic groove creates a blanket of warmth that will put a smile on your face.

With Sassa's debut Lost on You, he takes his talents a step further to round off this brilliant, crowd-pleasing 3-track underground track. The EP is sure to find its way onto the playlists of the big guys' brigade. Another essential release from Lost on You from the heart, for the dance-loving soul.

Renaissance present a production duo enjoying their own renaissance…

Luke Brancaccio and Gai Barone need little introduction. In recent years, singularly or together, they’ve developed an enviable discography that includes Crosstown, Bedrock, Mobilee, Selador, Circus, Lost & Found and more… It’s fair to say they’ve been both prolific and successful.

Now they add Renaissance to the CV with a stunning 3-track EP that pinpoints the skill behind their unique partnership. “Gai and I have been working together for about two years, but it may surprise people to learn we have never actually met in person”, Luke explains, “which is weird because I’ve never been able to work remotely with anyone before, but there’s something about our relationship that just clicks; the process is quite simple, normally one of us comes up with an idea and then we kick it back and forth till we both agree we have something special.”

And with the Brokheimer EP they do indeed have something special. Whilst title track of the same name and 'Little Pictures' are mesmeric examples of melodic techno, 'Boarders' expands things into the realm of electronica, as Gai confirms, “The idea of the EP was to make 3 tracks that were different from each other yet could be played in the same set.”

But the goodness does not end there! To inject further appeal the guys invited current indie king Renato Cohen to remix 'Brokheimer', which he does with trademark gusto. “It’s a bomb mix that provides exactly what we were looking for - a very creative, yet different take on the track. We couldn’t be happier with it!”, says Luke.
