Electric Graffiti Breakdance Boogie (Borderless Guest Mix)

I've fallen in love with this genre they call "city pop". It blossomed in the late 70's/early 80's in Japan (and a little bit in China as well) where at the time they were highly influenced by American culture. This is the reason most of the songs have English track names and most of the album covers featured the NYC skyline. This does not mean the songs were in English though. As you'll hear there's hardly any English in them and the English they managed to sing doesn't make any sense at all. But the music is dope and It just proves that words and lyrics aren't always that important as long as it makes you feel like dancing.

To highlight that the Japanese and Chinese weren't too far off the American and Brazilian funk scene in the same era I've mixed in a couple of songs which sounds familiar. I hope you enjoy this wonderful deep dive in to a genre I just discovered a couple of months ago.
