Soho tells the story of love through life, the passion and intimacy that we experience with those who find their way to our hearts, even when we know it might only be temporary. We hope it will bring you on a journey to look inward, just as it did for us.

An emotional piece that pushes and pulls through it’s intense emotional moments and instrumental changes. Floating atop keyboards, percussion, drums and bass, Hansom sings her story by effortlessly walking the line between french and English. 

Soho and its accompanying music video, will release worldwide on July 25th.

Soho

Born on the docks of our cottage, Monet was originally a creative experiment. We wanted to write a song that could be the bridge between our first single Soho and our up-coming EP, as they are both stylistically quite different. Monet is the evolution of the flow found in Soho, staying in the French and English style of writing and performance.
 
For us it has always been easier to write melancholic and introspective music, but for Monet, we gave ourselves the challenge of writing a song that would make us smile. Affectionate and sensitive, Monet evokes playful images of a story between kindred spirits. We were inspired by the art and creativity found in the Renaissance and Impressionistic eras and we pay homage to this through our lyrics.  The sentimental lightness of the song is supported visually by the DIY style video that Camille filmed while traveling through Europe, even passing through Claude Monet’s personal residence and garden.

Summer Rise

Hansom Ēli, composed of Camille and Alexy Guérer, is an innovative musical duo based in Montreal. Together, they effortlessly blend folk, R&B, funk and indie pop into their music, forging a style that is unmistakably their own.

On January 1st 2019, Hansom Ēli released a set of intimate live-off-the floor recordings as an EP called Yesterday. These intimate and raw recordings offer a glimpse of where the band came from, but also where they might be heading. 

Currently, they are promoting their debut single Soho, which released along-side a FACTOR funded music video on July 25th 2019. In the short time since its release, it has garnered airplay on stations in Canada and Europe such as CBC, Radio Canada, CISM, and Europe 1. Additionally, Soho has been playlisted over 300 times on Spotify and garnered almost 20k streams in its first two months. 

Since then, they have secured funding through FACTOR twice and have performed at the Canadian Music Week 2019 showcase. Additionally, they have been awarded the coveted MVP grant presented by RBCxMusic and the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television, to produce a music video which is scheduled for release early 2020.
