Kahltofal is the great and only desert of Alethrion. It divides the northern and southern parts of the eastern continent. If you wish to cross this continent it is impossible to avoid this desert. Moreover since the desert was created by powerful magic there are different types of cursed sand that will either misguide you or even attack you. Sand guides are a necessity to cross the dunes so all travelers must visit the guide posts on the edge of the desert. Vito and Wilhelm seems to have found their guide and are now beginning their preparations for the day of travel across the sand. Since sleep in the desert is certain death you will need to pass the cursed sands in one day. Another good reason to find a good and trustworthy guide.
