SKEEM® 'THE ABSOLUTE MOVEMENT'

A rock project that combined rock, 'popsongs' with all kinds of sounds. Inspiration came from all kinds of bands and acts, anything from Praga Khan, Underworld, Linkin Park, Filter, Bjork, and even Slayer and DEATH.

Some tracks are really old and where demo tracks. They do not sound that great. Others are somewhat better produced and sound okay. All these recordings functioned as a guide for playing these songs live. They were not meant to be released. But with real recorded drum-tracks it is good enough to upload them here... There's no mastering done, I've just maximized the sh*t out of it....  

Live on stage, this was a real band! A band that was difficult to categorize. The setup (kind of musicians and equipment on stage) made it to be a band that really stood out. We didn't have, wanted to needed a Bass-player!  

I've gained a lot of attention with this act.  Even Eddy Zoey, a famous TV-personality and great musician here in The Netherlands helpt me to try to turn this project into a succes.... But I was a student at the Rotterdam Conservatorium. I began playing - as a guitarist, more and more. And that really killed this project!

I wrote all these songs, recorded them all. Drums are recorded separately, initially EZ-drummer was used an later on replaced by real recorded drums. 
Guitars are 90% played by me, and 10% by a guitar-student (at the time) of mine. A real talent who now does the most awesome things. - At the time this guy was a real DEATH-METAL guitarist. He replaced an earlier guitar-player, also on stage!

Artefact® 

A Trip-hop, ambient band/act from The Netherlands in/for which I played guitar, both live on stage and as recording guitarist. It wasn't just simply playing some guitar, simple riffs and licks, with an average amplifier. No, my guitar-sound was - mostly live - bathing in real-time (non-typical) effects, I would - for example - use Ableton Live® and all kinds of plugins to create the most outrages sounds. But I have to add to that the fact that melodies and progressions always had the the highest priority. 

Due to my participation as guitarist. Better Sayed: having a guitar in this kind of music. And my contribution as a creative provider of ideas, often enough influenced numerous Artefact® songs. They finally where often based on these guitar things. 

Years ago we - Artefact® - won 'De Grote Prijs van Nederland' A national -band/DJ- contest in the Nederlands. Because of that we played live on big festivals such as Dance Valley, MysteryLand etc. 
Next to that a couple albums have officially been released trough 'PIAS', a relatively big recording company/label here in the Netherlands. 

After some years the band stopped! We've never played together again. Reasons for this have to do with disagreements, and some other sh*t...

Just some recording of a song on which I played some CRAZY 80's guitar-solo's..  The Lyrics are in Dutch.. If you are dutch:  DIT IS ECHT GEINIG!!!!  Dit is zo'n beetje de bezetting van het OUDE (en echte) 'Lekke Band', met Joop ja!  

Gitaarwerk is soms 2-stemmig.. echt een 80's feel. 
De slag-gitaar is door iemand anders gespeeld hoofdzakelijk.

(Compare this song to 'Insane Mind' song.. That song is based on the main Piano from this song but here @ Normal Speed & Pitch. At 'Insane Mind' I just messed around with going from 44kz to 48kz and 96kz.. That's one of the differences..

I, my family and friends would really appreciate this. 

I am really a guitarist, in heart and soul! I graduated (2002) at the Rotterdam Conservatorium as a modern 'Jazz'/ fusion/rock/blues Guitar player. They gave me an 8.5!  I've also got a diploma for composing and arranging jazz/pop music. 

From the start at the conservatorium I played guitar for over 20 years in all kinds of bands and acts. The longer I walked around in the 'commercial' scene, the more I lost touch with the real me. Mostly because the money was great! Next to playing I was a guitar teacher, gave guitar lessons and bandcoaching at different schools of music. 

At a certain point I realized that I had been playing as a session/studio guitarist and in all kinds of coverbands and commercial projects. And that I wasn't the same person anymore in comparison to who I was and where I stood for when I started playing music. 'This is f*kking not why I started playing guitar!'.... I kept doing this professionally until early 2017 when my  kidney disease stopped me from continuing. 

Now I'm back to when music was a hobby, the last year I haven't done anything anymore. But now it's great to be back! I enjoy hearing back music that I recorded. It's sh*t that I didn't keep all of the recordings that I made over the years. So a part of it I have posted here over the last couple of years.
Sometimes I come across some footage and recordings. I'de like to upload them here. 

Before I die.... Due to my kidney disease....   Might you have any footage, video or audio of me playing guitar, singing, or even playing drums...  Please contact me! Me and my family would really appreciate this.
