im in my childhood country but i dont remember what happened here
up until i was six even then i 
depend on pictures to tell me if
what i went through was real

but i know i dreamt of being older
and living out all my dreams
like ending world hunger or at least starring in some big theater play
i mean, i still dream of doing it all today

who wouldve thought i'd be me now
kinda sad it'll go to waste

must be why i like movies from the 2000s
so my eyes are only ever looking back

if i hear "you've got potential" one more goddamn time, i'm gonna scream
they tell me i've got time, i think they mean: sentence to pay, then ask me
where do i see myself in five years from today

god, can i just be my best self now
