Sorry for our lack of uploads recently, Fionn and I have both been very busy over the summer and didn't get many chances to record some new stuff. We're now getting back into the swing of things. Hope you enjoy this lil cover

Laura Mvula's "Father, Father" develops with a hymn-like reverence, but the story in the lyric and the evolving harmony reveal a dark and pleading story under the surface. An alto soloist is featured prominently.

A soloist is featured through most of the tune, and a vocal percussionist helps define the often shifting groove and pushes the tune toward its climax. Plenty of repeated phrases make this secrely a very approachable chart that will make your vocal jazz or a cappella group sound great and let your singers tell a deep and moving story.
