There & Back Again

In the Ukrainian-speaking album "Dreams of Trees | Сни Дерев", I explore the themes of
the ambiguity of dreams and their origins, nostalgia for pre-war times, and fear of the future.
The metaphorical image of sleeping trees symbolizes a postponed life. I used recordings
from the air made during 2023-2024 to deepen the atmosphere of the tracks and create
a sense of presence. These include sounds from the Carpathian Mountains, children playing
in a Lviv’s fountain, the noise of Kyiv streets, a children's choir, and more.

Each track represents a separate dream with blurred lines between surrealism and reality, where
one does not want to wake up. The layered vocals create a feeling of altered consciousness, and
the mystery of dreams brings both a sense of calm and anxiety. The entire album has a thoughtful dynamic and dramaturgy, divided into three parts: nostalgia for pre-war times, the realities of today, rebirth and faith in a bright future.

This album is my transformation between 2022 and 2024, a journey where the silence whispers
of ancient fears and unknown secrets, revealed only to those willing to feel them. The covers, like
the music itself, immerse you in this world where everything intertwines, changes, and exists
outside of time, in loud sounds and silence simultaneously.
