Summer is flying by and it's time for our next compilation again. This time we have put together a large selection of artists for you whose sound we have been liking lately.

Downtempo is a very diverse music genre with many different styles and directions. As always, we want to address all these influences we like with our compilation and bring them under one roof. So there should be something for everyone on this release, whether to chill out on an open air or inside in the fog of the night.

We are very grateful to have represented so many different and talented musicians on our label and we would like to thank all artists involved. Especially our Mastering Engineer Haunted Water & Kilian Van De Water for the gorgeous Artwork again.

NYC event brand Zero launch their new label arm with a superb new EP from German live artist Jacob Groening that comes with remixes from Lovecraft and unders & Noraj Cue. It comes after years of releasing on other vital outlets and establishing himself as a unique voice in the house underground.

Opener Nican feat. Joy Tyson is a deep and spiritual house roller. The lush drums and hits sink you into a cavernous groove and majestic, wispy synths and percussion add the vital detail. Timo slows right down and has finger clicks and a rugged synth riff over the lazy, loveable drums. It's a super nice vibe thats as thoughtful as it is deep.

Timo (Lovecraft Remix) is more upright, but stays just as deep, taking you late into the night on distant synth smears with a rising lead occupying the mind. Jacob Groening - Nican (unders & Noraj Cue Remix) is the most direct of them all, but the airy and angelic vocals keep it heady and spiritual.

This is a tasteful EP of richly rewarding deep house

DJs are a nomadic people. Drifting between venues, airports and hotel rooms, they're always on the hunt for new music and clubbing activity. They are, indeed, the Bohemians of the 21st Century. Or as Britta Arnold, unders and Noraj Cue would call them: Happy Campers. 

The sophomore release for their brand new imprint Happy Camper Records comes from Bar25 legend, KaterBlau resident and Berlin mainstay Jake The Rapper. The American-born singer/dj/producer has been in Germany long enough now to understand the art of making an Ohrwurm. 'Time To Waste' is one of those tunes that keeps resonating inside your head long after you've heard it. With its thumping beat, catchy vocals and roaring synthline, it's bound to set any dancefloor ablaze. 

Although many believe 'Time To Waste' is a love song, Jake actually wrote it for his friends: "I was at Kater one morning, getting tired of the cyclicality of raving, thinking I really ought to go home and kiss my wife, take care of my kids, get some sleep, get my life together and get some music done. Some friends wanted me to stay and keep dancing. I was like: 'If I had any time to waste, I'd waste it with you. But I don't so… Bye!'" 

As is custom in the Happy Camper family, a string of befriended producers have given their own interpretations to the original. In dOP's remix, a mesmerizing synth that sounds a lot like a harmonica almost gives it a chanson feel, were it not for its relentless bassline and acid bleeps. Skilfully fucking up the vocals beyond recognition, Iories takes a more slow-burning and epic approach with his Dystopian Sundown mix. And Signal Flow & Pattern Drama aim for that end of the night magic with an epic stomper of a remix. Dancefloor detonation guaranteed.

Making their debut on Eskimo Recordings this March, Berlin producers Franz Matthews & Local Suicide’s ‘Meditation / Tutan Jamon‘ was a heady brew of psychedelic disco that joined the dots between the German capital and the sun soaked souks of North Africa.

Hailed as “propulsive and zen” by Resident Advisor and championed by DJs including Dj T, Red Axes, Perel & Acid Washed, the tracks have now been giving a fresh rub, with Eskimo going one better even than the genie from the Arabian Nights and fulfilling 4 wishes summoning up remixes from Manfredas, Chaim, NTEIBINT and The Oddness.

First out of the trap is Lithuanian producer Manfredas. Having made a name for himself with releases on labels like Les Disques de la Mort, Multi Culti and I’m A Cliché, Manfredas turns in a head spinning remix of Tutan Jamon, teasing out and extending the track in a masterclass of delayed gratification that eventually dissolves into acidic bleeps and drones. Tel Aviv’s Chaim remix of Tutan Jamon meanwhile sees the sometime Bpitch Control and Disco Halal producer up the tempo whilst losing none of the original’s exotic vibe. In his hands the track becomes a propulsive and trippy disco number perfect for late summer parties under the stars.

Eskimo stalwart NTEIBINT is up next with his reinterpretation of Meditation. Once again the Greek producer goes to show just why the label has him on speed dial, delivering a stunning remix with Vamparela’s vocals and a hypnotic bass line combining to mesmerising effect.

Finally fresh from remixing Satin Jackets Australian rising star The Oddness returns to Eskimo with his own spaced out take on Meditation. Keeping the tempo slow and low the Melbourne producer unravels the track, pulling apart its constituent parts and allowing them all to float free.

As we continue our musical discovery of some of the most unique and talented Electronic musicians & producers from Beirut, Thawra Records is excited to welcome on board, Jad Taleb, with his fabulous EP "Transitory". A producer, composer and unique audio-visual artist, Taleb delivers, with this offering, warm and emotive pieces of Electronic dance music, highlighting his unique sound signature, that has previously earned him global appearances on Boiler Room (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE0tTY0YZnQ) and impressive releases with labels the likes of Exploited Ghetto and Smiley Fingers, among others.

Composed of 3 original tracks, Transitory navigates through House and Techno pastures, with Taleb's emotive and evolving synth melodies, fused with hints of local Middle-eastern flavour, and elevated by warm, textural, and multi-layered production. Mad Or and Leftovers From both demonstrate sharp house vibes, anchored to addictive grooves and funky bass-lines, and yet beaming with melody and ethereal ambience, an aspect fully drawn out in the title track Transitory, which boasts impressive melodic work and a progression that simultaneously challenges the listener while earnestly engulfing them in a meditative state and an undulating world of sound. Finally, we conclude with an extended mix of Mad Or, that progresses further, and introduces a whole new world of sound, earning its own and well-deserved spot on the track-list, and completing this impressive package.
