NYM017 - Kornet - Cell Turnover

‘JAC’ is a collaborative release by Shanghai based Gooooose and Berlin based DJ Scotch Egg. After meeting for the first time at Nyege Nyege Festival, Uganda, in 2019, SVBKVLT brought Scotch Egg to Shanghai for a one week studio session with Gooooose in Jan 2020, just a couple of weeks before Covid-19 took hold. The result is JAC, a 6 track release, including a track with vocal samples from Swordman Kitala, recorded by Scotch Egg during his residency at the Nyege villa, plus remixes from Slikback and Seven Orbits & TSVI, with artwork by Andy Rolfes and design by Luke Griffiths. Very dengrouse!!

Emerging DJ and producer Happy New Tears plays machine processed music for the melancholy self. Her sets are always brimming with atmospheric and emotional genre defying music, inviting you to dissolve into her sonic world.

The Zambian-Dutch artist started producing with the support of Berlin Community Radio and is one of the DJ graduates of the No Shade program. No Shade is a club night series and DJ training program for female, non-binary & trans people based in Berlin.

As her name implies, her musical output blends a range of emotions and aims to find the turning point between euphoria and rage or the moment celebration turns into sadness. She uses these uncanny voids to explore empowerment at the intersection between two worlds.

Making appearances behind the decks in venues such as Berghain, Tresor, OHM, Garage Noord, La Station Gare des Mines and having shared lineups with LSDXOXO, Croatian Amor, Juliana Huxtable, LYZZA, De Schuurman and Roly Porter, her artistic vision flows further into curating music compilations for CTM Festival as well as music production.
