Baikal Nomads is an influential organic house record label, and the imprint’s new release is the eighth edition of their annual compilation, ‘Badarchin’.

‘Badarchin, Vol. 8’ features 18 tracks including three collaborations, and artists from 9 different countries. This globally sourced release embraces cultural diversity, and features music with deep atmosphere, organic percussion and spellbinding melodies.

The artists who feature on this release include Alacrán del Amor, JAVALI (MX), Andrew Shartner, Böle, Borowsky, Catatonique, Cereus, Dj Shaman, Dragon House, Jocan Deka, Samuel Wexler, K2W0, Kerem Genc, Lello Fusco, m.age.project, Makossa (IT), Niño Amarillo, Savanna, Sainz (VE), Tlazohtla and Yodh.

Many of the artists on this release have previously been featured on Baikal Nomads, but there are also record label debuts by Dragon House, Makossa (IT), Borowsky, Böle, Savanna & Sainz, Jocan Deca & Samuel Wexler, Yodh, Alacran del Amor & Javali.

Each track on this stunning compilation is a new and exciting piece of music, and many of the artists behind the tracks have individually featured on other respected record labels such as • kosa •, Cosmic Awakenings, MONADA, Cafe De Anatolia, Magician On Duty, trndmsk and Harabe.

There are so many amazing tracks on the release that there is something for everyone, as although organic house is at the core of this compilation, ‘Badarchin, Vol. 8’ also features other associated genres ranging from melodic house/techno to Afro house and downtempo.

Since embarking on its music journey in 2015, Pandhora has been shaping its own psychedelic & progressive sound signature. Highly inspired by various sub-genres of rock and electronic music, the duo’s productions involve acoustic instruments and subtle organic touches. Strengthened by over a decade of multi-instrumental practice and music theory training, Pandhora has an unframed and eclectic approach to music composition.

‘Deep Psychedelia’ - their nature-inspired Live Act has seen daylight in 2018. Since then, they have been touring colorful grounds. From Europe to Mexico and all the way to the Middle East and India, their music travelled through inspiring venues and swaying crowds. Ranging from electronica to upbeat progressive house, their tracks tell a story of intriguing soundscapes. Combining driven guitar & keyboard improvisations, they aim at guiding the audience delicately into acoustic spaces. As the story unveils, they aspire to create an ever-changing poetic tale. 

During the past 5 years, they produced and released over 40 tracks on their own imprint Art Vibes and established labels such as Pipe & Pochet, Souq Records, House Music With Love and many more. Throughout 2020, they will be working on new projects, exploring varied song formats & styles. They will blend organic and electronic sounds as well as experimenting with their own vocals.

~Time for our little Q&A~

>>Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Dion and I live in Amsterdam. I didn’t grow up here though, i’m originally from a small village in the east, pretty close to the german border.

>>How did your musical journey start?
When i was 16 (that’s 19 years ago) I was really into hiphop and I loved the sound of scratching so much that I just had to give it a go. So I got my first mixer (which was a realistic stereo mixer). The mixer was basically a VU meter with 2 volume faders and a headphone output (sidenote to other DJ’s, if you want to have a good laugh, you can probably find the mixer on google). Anyway we had a turntable at home and I bought a cheap 2nd hand one myself to connect it to the mixer and started fiddling around a bit. Everything changed though. When I was digging for new records, I discovered house music. I started collecting and soon afterwards started dj-ing in a nearby discotheque which was a lot of fun. I think it was in my early twenties i also started producing.

>>What do you particularly like about "slow" music?
What I particularly like about downtempo, is that every single sound in a track, gets more space to breathe, resonate and therefor really get through to you. What I also really like is that it can be experienced in many different ways. People can enjoy the music either chilling-out or dancing.

>>What is your current favorite track (on what bpm if its pitched)?
Ohh wow.. There are soo many and it's really hard to name just one track. One of the most intriguing tracks at the moment for me is Guldregn by Baime. Pitched down to 105 bpm (that’s about as fast as i go) something magical happens with this already wonderful track. It’s not in this set though, since my mood didn’t really send me a dark and techy way.

>>A set that you listen to over and over again?
I don't really listen complete sets multiple times often. If I should name one which was really gamechanging for me, I would have to mention the set Martha van Straaten played at Karl Kutter at Fusion 2015. However the most transforming set for me was get lost V by Acid Pauli.

>>Whats your favorite festival?
Ahhh.. difficult question cause there are sooo many. Nomade really tickles all my senses, but it would be really horrible of me if I wouldn't mention Fusion here, cause this festival brings me soo much inspiration year after year.
