Swedish pair Michel Isorinne and Jonas Rönnberg record under a number of different aliases and have done so for the last couple of years on labels like Northern Electronics and Opal Tapes. Their sound veers from foggy, experimental stuff to icy techno via deep acid, and produced a first album this time last year on Clan Destine Records.

This new album as D.Å.R.F.D.H.S. is one for headphones or home listening, for lonely winter nights or long night time journeys. It’s an absorbing ambient affair weighed down by a heavy sense of atmosphere. At times shadowy and eerie, at others cautiously optimistic, the perfectly crafted spaces within all invite you to get lost and completely forget the outside world. Arriving with enigmatic artwork in both digital and vinyl format, modern ambient never sounded better.

After years apart, we've finally got the boys back on our screens later this month. What better way to celebrate than by marking another return, to the label of their post-breakout "Stash" victory lap. Aus, Belfast and Boiler Room: there's no place like home.

"Just" wastes no time locking the brisk rhythm into place before a wriggling earworm of a lead pans across the channels. Atmospheric swells are pieced by gatling-gun snares; the tension builds but never releases, making this a surefire precursor to the bulk of heavyweight set climaxes you're likely to hear this summer. As ever, the aural equivalent of 20,000 bicep emojis.

While the original album ”Quiet Distortion“ still resonates on dance floors around the world, we are more than happy to present to you a wonderful and versatile remix package of select album tracks. We believe the lineup of remixers really speaks for itself:
First up we have Nicole Moudaber, who has established a notable presence amongst the techno elite. Nicole transforms the title track of the album to an epic 10 minute journey that - dropped at the right moment of the night – will definitely let the magic happen.
Next up we have Wigbert, hailing from Offenbach in Germany and releasing on Dubfire´s Sci+Tec and Carlo Lio´s Rawthentic, who also reworked the title track. Wigbert builds his version around the original strings to create a dense remix that explodes in a monstrous breakdown!
Third on the lineup we have Jewel Kid from Malta, who just recently released a stunning EP on our little label and who delivers the bigroom mix on this package, twisting the original melodies to an apocalyptic dance floor destroyer.
Soma artists Gemini Voice Archive have been a mainstay in Gregor´s DJ-sets for the past year with their distinctive and unique hypnotic sound - another perfect match for this remix package - they picked ”Safehouse“ and boy, did they deliver!
Last but not least is Jonas Thor Gudmundsson aka Ruxpin from Iceland - Gregor has been a fan of his music for the past 15 years and we´re very happy to have him close the EP with his stunning vocal rework of the album´s final track ”Give It All Away“.

HOLY OTHER - Know Where

Fans of Burial's debut masterpiece (how about a second album now fella?) will find something to connect with in this warped double header from Holy Other, which has already had the blogs getting pretty excited. Well maybe not the ones that feature recent mums talking about babies or ones featuring stolen clips of Lindsay Lohan in prison but the decent music ones anyway...

Beautifully melding dark analogue synths with layers of samples flying in all directions, there's also a touch of the Gold Panda in this mournful gem that proves Berlin has more to offer than 77 hour techno sets in disused Cold War factories. Although said bleak buildings could be said to be the perfect location for Holy Other...

Anyway, we digress... If there's to be an apocalypse in the coming months, and we're desperately hoping there's not, then this will be a perfect first tune for the next generation. God, what a bleak write-up!
