The Tunisian electronic music producer Ben Khlifa has joined Nastia’s rapidly growing record label NECHTO and is releasing a 4 track EP. 

Tracks from the EP were first played by Nastia in her audiovisual project Scary Beautiful. The intense, and at times obscure tracks consist of overwhelming and speedy energy, which perfectly fit the dynamic and hauntingly mesmerizing mood of the project, the label, and the atmospheric world Ben Khlifa converts into the audio form. 

Having started DJing at a very young age, the artist experimented with various genres, eventually realizng that he is most drawn to the raw energy of techno and was early inspired by Berlin and Detroit techno. The producer sees no limits in what one can achieve in the realm of music - music drives itself once it receives an external force.

About EP: Reminiscences of a past that never was. This new chapter is a narration of an oneiric tragedy/drama (at the apogee of a realm?) about risking it all to overthrow the throne. Glory, Disgrace, wealth, ambition, misfortune, loss. Put down the mighty from their seats, exalt the lowly in an utopian new order.

The Fifth Stigma is an industrial and esoteric project, exploring the realms of history and wonders from forgotten eras through music.
Tired with the direction of contemporary techno, The Fifth Stigma aims to craft a slow, heavy and raw metallic techno, influenced by history, emotions and obscure world music, driven by a blend of several genres in times where everything seems to go faster, look alike and tend to be too easily accessible and instantly consumed.
Production wise, he forges intimate pieces, creating sonic atmospheres filled with fantastical imagery, conjured by the artist's imagination, which have a compellingly oneiric quality, whilst always exploring new sounds from different horizons, from liturgical to techno, from noise to punk electronics.
He recently joined as resident DJ Los Angeles’ illustrious warehouse raves curator Dirty Epic, the collective behind the Compound series and Re/Form festival.
The Fifth Stigma’s selections flourishes of meticulously sorted dance-floor tracks ranging from techno to EBM to less known sub-genres, journeying across the wide scope of electronic music.

spāzz dives into the infinity of time and space, offering a musical experience that goes beyond the boundaries of the earthly. Far from being a simple sound project, Aeternum is the fruit of an inner quest, an introspective journey inspired by the search for eternity, both a philosophical concept and a universal sensation. Inspired by the mysteries of the universe, the perpetual cycles of nature and the deep explorations of the human spirit, the artist sought to capture this idea of endless time – both personal and cosmic. 

The album is anchored in an exploration of organic and futuristic sounds, merging hypnotic rhythms and subtle textures to create an atmosphere of continuity, where each song seems to extend without ever ending.

Sane AKA Russell Burnell by people such as his wife and even me once by mistake is one of the "newer" (to me) artists on this compilation celebrating the music and the people who make it. His skittish beats cover quite a lot of ground techno-wise, but these haunting Wonky numbers are what always grab my ears. I feel he's able to take that old 90's vibe and give it a little modern spin. It doesn't have to be banging, to be banging.

To celebrate 500 episodes of Bleep Radio...

In 2003 I began streaming live via Livesets dot com. Over the years the number of annually archived shows has always fluctuated, but eventually it appears 500 has arrived. Sure the actual number of streams is probably triple that or more, but that's harder to celebrate.

This 4x12" Boxed Set represents the artists whose music I play the most on Bleep Radio. Literally and objectively played the most. I'm a big number crunching statistics nerd and have trended my own track-lists for years as many of you know. As a Canadian, far removed from where the music I like shines the brightest I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to meet with and play alongside a lot of these folks in person and not just via the stream.

Bleep Radio is expected to hit show 500 on May 14th which is when --if all things align-- this release will be ready. The 500th show will consist of a mix of all of the tracks on this release by myself, plus...guests?

This release is isn't just a milestone, it's an open love letter to all of you whose music I play and will continue to play and support. Keep it wonky folks.
