The Colombian producer whose name is on everyone's lips, figure of the underground in his native land, Felipe Gordon makes a sensational debut on our beloved label SKYLAX RECORDS ! His fabulous Django Mango EP mixes his house music obssessions with his love for Latin & jazz music. Adept of analog equipment and eminent musician, he gives us a real work of art to store alongside Nuyorican souls legends (master at work in mind). Kicking off the release, the title song django mango takes us through the swirls of the alleys of bogota, a bit as if moodymann had paid for a first class round trip in bogota , a laid-back title that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. a clever mix of funky bassline & a light piano that almost reminds us of the masters of the buena vista social club (without the vocals!) in house mode. A masterpiece in itself. on A2, we can hear this mixture again the perfect fusion between the golden-age house aesthetics and the cultural sounds of South America all complemented by a superb vocal during the break "our names are nick names wich won't reflect where we came from" a statement in itself ! The b-side from the outset gives us perhaps one of the best songs of the ep, the brilliant dakar, a subtle mix of rhodes, swaying bass and African children's chants. And to end, D, Fuck Off All Your Trouble, is an ode to the resilience of the motor city in the purest style of the 313. A brillant debut !

In 2011 Nebraska released an album called Displacement. Every one of the tracks have been aired on the Mister sound system, and at least three of them have become anthems for the party. (If you don't own that album, get it.)

About a year ago, we started to wonder, "Where is this Nebraska guy?" He hadn't released any new music since the LP. We searched high and low an found his contact. When we got in touch, he responded by paying us a visit, bringing us a couple pieces of vinyl (one of which made its way onto Eamon and Justin's Weekends and beginnings Mix) and, thankfully, sending us a steady stream of unreleased music.

A couple of those songs have become regular dance floor contenders, and we're very happy to say now that we've cut them to wax, and we're officially welcoming Nebraska into the Mister Saturday Night family.

If you have had the pleasure of listening to a Lucky record before, you will know that his production style juxtaposes that of classy filtered soulful samples and more dark, dubbier textures. True to his style, the A1 cut of the record, "Olà Do Mar",  does exactly that and is an absolute slammer!

This joint starts off very comfortably; heavy percussion counterpoints the teasing, filtered stabs nicely. This quickly gives way ebbing and flowing, melody rich, almost orchestral house. At its peak it sounds like when you’re knee deep in your second popadom, and mixed up the mint one and the chutney one (and maybe the onion one) into a fusion of pure Ambrosia. Keep these gloopy, panning samples comin’.
