Definition Of Hard Techno turned 5 years old in June and since the event could not take place at the Fusion Club in Münster/Germany for the unfortunate reason known to all of us (i.e. corona virus lockdown), the whole thing had to take place online via Facebook livestream.

[nstbt_podcast_058] - Dementia Affliction

As the year finally draws to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to look back over the last 12months with an immense appreciation for all that was.

This will be a year that won't be soon forgotten. For many their lives have taken a completely different course. Some out of opportunity, some out of necessity and a long laid dormant survival instinct buried deep within.

As I have said to some of you over the course of the year: Hard times will either make you, or break you. The destruction of a seed, and it's transformative power leading rise to a new version of yourself as your skin is shed. Seeing the world and your own reflection with new eyes. 

Opportunities come to those who are able to take the hits, adapt, and keep moving forward. The journey has many paths with a destination in mind. And any road will take you there.

This year has seen the rise and fall of much in the way of electronic music. No clubs or festivals, means new methods of communicating, networking, sharing and experiencing our music. What was once a party shared in a warehouse or venue on the other side of the world is now a solitary live performance from our homes to an audience without borders.

The world changed, and so we changed with it.

One man who has manged to play a pivotal role throughout all of this is HardtraX. Whether it's contributing mixes and podcasts to various labels and promoters. The countless new projects and releases he undertakes, or the sample packs live streams he shares online. He has been spearheading what feels like a rebirth for hard techno music.

At the start of this year I had no idea how things were going to look by this point. I wasn't sure if I had anything left in me to give. But one day I opened my inbox, and there it was. A new podcast mix from HardtraX. We hadn't done any for a while since moving house (again...) But there are no rules other than those we create. 

One podcast lead to another. Lead to conversations, lead to releases in our inbox, lead to new projects lead to here now.

I know this post is already too long, and I don't wish to take anything away from this absolutely slamming mix of industrial hardtechno from HardtraX.

But I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you. To all of you. To all of us. You know who you are, and you are probably the only ones who read this far anyway. So yeah... This is all for you.

Lets hope for better times ahead in 2021 and beyond, or for at least the strength to endure. Our inbox is always open if you ever need to chat. Even if I may be half asleep on a couch, or off on some weird tangent... lol
