This track was slowly sculpted over 2 years.  It took so long because I only ever worked on it when I was coping with loss of some sort.  Its quite a personal piece of music that has some very strong memories attached to it.

I'm not going to go into the stories surrounding this song but I'm really happy to finally be able to share this one with the world :)

HARIKIRI showcase mix [@Complexion #TFBS 044]

Joss came up with the title and it really resonated with me (we all have them moments, right?).  I'd been waiting for the right time to use the Japanese vocal sample and with one it just fit perfectly, both sonically and contextually...

There seems to be a sweeping focus on making music that is melodic, conforming to certain rules that make sounds instantly pleasant to the ear.  I've definitely felt influenced by this trend amongst my peers too – to the extent that I almost didn't upload this for fear it simply wouldn't "fit" or "work".

However, its been a long while since I made something for the sole purpose of exploring harsh sounds for shock-value, so with this track I wanted to take a few steps back for a moment to re-explore the beauty that can be found in aberrance and discordance.

In the run up to my Asia tour I did an interview and mix for the Noisey China homies.   I forgot to share the mix here for those of you who don't follow the Asian channels, so here it is.  

Its packed full of the music I like to rave to... there's no trying to be too "future", no pretentiousness... just fun club shiz! :)

[English Below]  Do Hits Vol3合集即将在11月17日发布， 真正的中国之声！用米其林三星来比喻再恰当不过来，精于技，丰于材，融贯古今中外 - 这才是有模有样的菜肴！鄙人献丑之作，“长命面与鸡姜菇”也会随合集发行。这是一道当代版本的唐朝主菜，配上充满诱人汁液的油封低音，再加上令人垂涎的蒙古沙拉，配得上真正的美食家！（开个玩笑）

当然，能够与中国最前卫与活跃的制作人出现在同一张合集里是我的荣幸；更重要的是作为一个如此在乎电子音乐的外国人，见证了中国独特的发展与转变！

DoHits Vol.3 compilation is out Nov 17th – the real "Made In China” sound!  The three-Michelin starred menu sees elaborate technique gloriously meld top quality ingredients, forming a pleasingly complex mix of classical and more modern dishes – the epitome of proper cooking!

My humble offering, "Longevity Noodles (with Chicken, Ginger and Mushrooms)” will feature on the full carte.  A modern interpretation of the traditional Tang dynasty staple, served alongside a confit of bass with a glorious jus and Mongolian salad to whet the appetite of the true connoisseur!

(All jokes aside) It is always an honour to have my work featured alongside the most forward-thinking and active producers in the country; even more so as a foreigner who cares so much about how the electronic music has grown and evolved so uniquely over the years!
