Dr. Bano is a seeker of knowledge who has successfully completed the three-year Micro Madrasa Program in the UK, with direct study under Shaykh Ibrahim Osi-Efa, Ustadha Nagheeba Hayel, and Shaykh Haroon Hanif. In addition she has been a student of Shaykh Faraz Rabbani. 

She has invaluable experience as a counselor and mentor; as a community leader and activist; and is an experienced public speaker. She is an engaging and effective teacher, whose intelligence, insight, commitment, and concern have benefited countless troubled and sincere souls.

Over the last few years, she has also been answering questions for the Seekers Guidance Answers service.

The Story of Islam: The Prophet's Life (saaw) - Dr. Bano Murtuja

Sufism ( tasawwuf ) is a knowledge through which one knows the states of the human soul, praiseworthy or blameworthy, how to purify it from the blameworthy and ennoble it by acquiring the praiseworthy [qualities], and to journey and proceed to Allah Most High, fleeing unto Him [by taking a spiritual path - tarîq ].

Its fruits are the heart's development, knowledge of God - Allah - through direct experience and ecstasy [ie. true experience of the Divine], salvation in the next world, triumph through gaining Allah's pleasure, the attainment of eternal happiness, and illuminating and purifying the heart so that noble matters disclose themselves, extraordinary states are revealed, and one perceives what the insight of others is blind to.

Islam's Vision of Business Ethics

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is considered by a number of official entities to be the most influential Muslim leader in the West. Given his public status, he has attracted much attention, some of which has of late been negative given the political engagements he has been involved in. Due to an increasing level of attacks targetting Shaykh Hamza's integrity and questioning his fidelity to the Muslim community, many Muslims are starting to doubt their trust in Shaykh Hamza.
