tava kara-kamala-vare nakhamadbhuta-srngam
dalita-hiranyakasipu-tanu-bhrngam
kesava dhrta-narahari-rupa jaya jagadisa hare

I offer my obeisances to Lord Narasimha who gives joy to Prahlada Maharaja and whose nails are like chisels on the stonelike chest of the demon Hiranyakasipu.

Lord Nrsimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Nrsimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender to Lord Nrsimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.

O Kesava! O Lord of the universe! O Lord Hari who have assumed the form of a half-man, half-lion! All glories to You! Just as one can easily crush a wasp between one’s fingernails, so in the same way the body of the wasplike body of Hiranyakasipu has been ripped apart by the wonderful pointed nails on Your beautiful lotus hands.


Eu ofereco minhas reverencias para o Senhor Narasimha que deu alegria a Prahlada Maharaja e que tem unhas como furadeira no peito de pedra do demonio Hiranyakasipu.

Senhor Narasimha esta aqui e tambem la. Em qualquer lugar que eu vou o Senhor Narasimha esta la. Ele esta dentro do coracao como tambem esta fora. Eu me rendo ao Senhor Narasimha, a origen de todas as coisas e o refugio supremo.

Oh Kesava! Oh Senhor do Universo! Oh Senhor Hari que assumiu a forma de metade-homem, metade-leao! Todas as glorias a Voce! Apenas como alguem pode facilmente partir uma vespa entre suas unhas, do mesmo modo o corpo-vespa de Hiranyakasipu foi rasgado pelas maravilhosas unhas pontudas de Suas maravilhosas maos de lotus.
