OMG YES FINALLY! I can't even tell you how eager I've been for a new Hari and Sukhmani track!

“Closer” is Khanvict’s penultimate single from his forthcoming EP,  ‘Escape’, due in May of 2021. In this emotional and evocative piece, the Pakistani-born, Surrey raised producer continues to sculpt soundtracks to a fantasy world where lush strings, deft percussion, and deep bass live in harmony. Inspired equally by Bollywood composer AR Rahman and electronic artists like CloZee and Troyboi (and having just finished 2 official remixes for the former), in ‘Closer’, Khanvict weaves together a traditional Punjabi lyric with his signature style.

10 Second of Wisdom, a track we've been working on for a few years now. Finally, feel that we are ready for you to hear it. In this original track we have used a couplet from baba bulleh shah 'chall buleya chall othay chaliyay jithay saaray annay, na koi saahdi zaat pachanay tay na koi saanu mannay', we have further improvised and added our own lyrics to the song 'dharti da koi mole na puchhay, bol ho mithray suchhay, paavan munn paavan tunn bulleya soch vacharan uchhay'

Mr. Mandeep Sethi, the man, joins us on this track with his beautiful words. please do listen to his words intently! we love him!!!

'Paranda' is a traditional punjabi hair accessory (a braid extension with colourful hangings)
The song is set in a time of  simple pleasures. In this song, the protagonist- a young lady receives a gift (a paranda) from her special someone, and is overjoyed. She sings and dances, sharing her joy with the world.

10 years ago we put up a video of Boohay Baarian produced, mixed & mastered by us. The video, a compilation of photos was shot by our friend, Haran Kumar, on a shoe string budget. The song has led us through thick and thin over the years, and here we are, 10 years old as a band, a blink of an eye in the general scheme of things, but an accumulation of evolution, laborious love and everything in between. So we present Boohey 2018, a mark of all that we have strived to achieve and for all things that we have gratefully received. A bit of daft punk, a bit of new age hip hop and a lot of Hari Sukhmani.

Fond memories are connected with this track and brings back images of our legendary performances in Orchid Lounge and One Boulevard. We say its about time we shared it with everyone, so here it is.

Hari ★ Sukhmani fuse folk music from the land of Punjab with ambient electronica to create a sound that is fresh and eclectic. Confined not to any single music genre, their sound embodies their powerful, singular, and independent spirit. inspired by writings of Sufi poets like Bulleh Shah, Baba Farid, Kabir, and Shah Hussain, the band’s aim is to make music that speaks to the soul, resonating with generations to come. Sukhmani Malik is a trained Hindustani classical vocalist while Hari Singh is a producer, vocalist and an audio engineer.

Their original musical act has seen them globetrotting with their music, spreading their earthy sounds. They have been featured on UK’s BBC Radio 1, Coke Studio @ MTV Season 2 (India), Star World’s The Dewarists (Season 2), Fox Traveller’s Sound Trek, Balcony TV Delhi, and Tehelka Music Project. They have also collaborated with several artists, converging different musical traditions with Noori (Pakistan), Arshad Khan (Indian classical Israj player), Thu Le (Western classical guitarist, Vietnam), Trilok Gurtu (Percussionist), Fakhruddin Gaffari (Percussionist, Iran) and Earthstage (Chillout jazz band, Goa) are some of their recent collaborations.

Their motto is to leave behind cultural, religious, caste and creed divides, and transform oneself with a new discipline called music.
