Blue Hour is the first single from my forthcoming mini-album, What We Leave Behind to be released on September 1st, 2025. Blue Hour represents the core explorations of the album - processing loss, taking the first steps after the end of a long-term relationship and mourning heartache.

What We Leave Behind, began as a means to rediscover recording music without inhibition or perfectionism.

It's a self-contained reflection of everything I've felt across the last 4 months and i'm proud of how it has captured this moment for me. The core explorations of these songs are consistent - processing loss and mourning heartache. What going on living with these experiences means.

The music across the album was recorded to tape with very few overdubs but I also recorded some parts with just a phone or lapel mic. This combination of analogue equipment and modern digital technology has shaped the sound of the album, full of clarity in some parts and warm and swimming in tape hiss in others.
