Ampispazi Recordings moves from its Berlin home to the golden Ibiza for the season and celebrates the summer with a 3 parts’ sampler called ‘Summer Camp’ featuring the labels’ best and yet to be discovered artists. Mik Santoro never stops working and knows the strength of his research and scouting talents. The label head knows that it is not just the big names that make great electronic music. This summer he compiled 16 tracks for his brainchild Ampispazi, putting together the artists that have taken part so far in the outstanding catalogue of this German imprint. Between last summer and now he and the label have been focusing more on the quality of the releases than the quantity, releasing almost half of the EPs and albums they did the year before. The incredible success of the music, reflected by the great amount of international press and artists behind each of the releases, has once again given Ampispazi the option to do something crazy but at the same time perfectly in line with the label's artistic choices. ‘Summer Camp’ sees Ampispazi fusing together their ever expanding roster: the ‘older’ Ercos Blanka, One Million Circuit’s Coa and Ramsi, Valentino Guerriero alongside new faces like Exploring Sounds, Keira, Shiels and the already established Alpha Function, Mess Me and Marco Ricci. 16 tracks divided into 3 parts, describing the different styles and genres of how a pure Dance music based day would go. The ‘Volume 1’ moves towards the most chilled summery vibes, mixing House and Experimental electronica. The morning after. The after parties. After a stellar debut performance at this year’s Coachella festival and two years since their chart-climbing ‘Benediction’ release, Hot Natured unleash new material for Emerald City with the anthemic ‘Off World Lover’ remixed by Will Clarke.

‘Off World Lover’ rides the path between discerning house anthem and enduring pop classic beautifully, the subtleties of Ali Love’s vocals masterfully executed amidst Hot Natured’s trademark futuristic analogue sounds. The labour and evolution of the band is evident in its simplicity and matured approach, and the result an instant classic. 

Rising Bristolian producer Will Clarke strips back ‘Off World Lover’ and shapes it for the club circuit through buoyant beats and voluptuous breakdowns, both set for release on Emerald City, the newest label venture from Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, on 18th September.

Arguably the biggest dance music act to break out of the underground circuit, with three well-acclaimed singles under their belt, ‘Reverse Skydiving’, ‘Forward Motion’ and ‘Benediction’, Hot Natured are a four-piece consisting of previously established and accomplished music producers Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Ali Love and Luca Cazal. Since their debut album smashed the charts at the end of 2013 they have taken an eighteen month hiatus from releasing, burying themselves deep in the studio working on their follow up, set for release in 2016. 

The roots of Will Clarke’s sound stem from both his home town of Bristol, and his seasonal home in Ibiza, which have forged a style that fuses the best of Bristol’s bass elements with the upfront house music sensibilities of the white isle. His productions have appeared on labels such as Defected, Dirtybird, Southern Fried and he recently launched his own label, Cut A Rug.

Here’s a dude and a label you don’t know just yet, so allow us to make a formal introduction for the pair. Decka is a young Bristolian producer-DJ; SPE:C is a new Berlin imprint. All acquainted, all familiar? Good stuff.

“002” is a slab of stomping, heavyweight techno that belies Decka’s relatively fresh face. Taking cues from all the right people – Randomer, Matrixxman, early Objekt – and shot through with a particular kind of 4am-in-a-barebrick-tunnel rave SFX (the decidedly Wachowskian green cover art says it all really), it’s a serious statement of intent.
