SCHRANKE’s EP series is characterized by contrasts. Life in the countryside versus an everyday life in big cities. Here surrounded by nature and silence, there the noise of metropolis, birdsongs instead of squeaky cars and the smell of industry. But also loneliness instead of community. The influence of the pandemic, lockdowns, fear and hope for normality. Moreover, an unease about the worldwide inequality of opportunity, discrimination against marginalized groups, hatred of authority and police violence. The desire for a change, to rave with lots of people close together, ecstatic, fast, hopeful thoughts of tomorrow. 
In their small studio in the middle of nowhere, SCHRANKE incorporated all of these feelings and influences into the production of their music. In their tracks, heavy kicks meet soft pads, whipping percussions meet beautiful melodies, noise and vocals come up against field recordings and sounds out of nature. Great female and queer artists, whose work and output SCHRANKE has admired for years, have contributed remixes and brought their own realities of electronic music to the release. 
The result are two tapes, named „No Limits“ and „Safe Word“. Made for the dance floor but also for listening. Twelve Tracks full of Techno, Trance, Hardcore, hate and hope. 

Part one starts with the title track „No Limits“. Ambient pad sounds are broken by the heavy kick which is immediately setting the pace. The piercing voice of the vocal makes us dream of a better world, the catchy lead synth is starting to amplify this feeling even more. After an intense break, the track glides along peacefully and ends as it began. In the second track, dj genderfluid is turning the vibe into a more epic dimension of trance. Track three is a stomping techno banger featured by The BlackMailer. Heavy kick, piercing percs and a lead that is going to screw into your ears to stay in your head. 
Side B begins more aggressive, barking dogs, EBM influenced baseline, more speed, hitting percussions and a gloomy kick. „Less Talk“ is bringing the mood alteration. 
The Femanyst remix is whipping, hissing and screaming like a monster before Dance Divine is bringing the EP to a forgiving and peaceful end. 
 Part two „Safe Word“ will be released on 6th. of January with remixes by Glitchgirl and Metaraph. More info’s soon <333

PATRICK EVANS, who has been busy releasing music on Perfecto, Melodic Beats, and Elpida, delivers a smooth and melodic rework of Steve's original, while CLAIRE'S ACCESSORIES (Underzone, Harmless, CRUDE etc) drives us home, ramping up the BPM with a deep and twisted rework for those harder European dance floors.

 Bamboozle Zone is an environment of hope and equity, of love and forgiveness, a place in which individuals are seeing for quality and skills, which society deems lost and abnormal, to discredit and discourage one's right to excersise freedom.

 As we know, art comes in so many different shapes and forms, some times in disguise and other times with a blast.  This album is put together with an aim to exhibit and explore the variety of melodies, rhythms and styles surrounding our scene, leading undoubtedly to one single unique experience, a personal journey to each one of our listeners. 

 18 artists coming together to create a project that can translate their emotions trough tones, keys, drums and powerful bass sounds which will fill you with joy, warmth and a uncontrollable desire to lose yourself to the music, while traveling through the woods of the Bamboozle Zone.

I have a complicated relationship with this one.

I started it right after I came home from Manas Festival, full of renewed inspiration and with a fresh perspective, when in my heart I was still stomping the sand beneath me to all the pulses and rhythms…

Then not so long after that, I had a serious head injury, and I had to quit making music for a quite long time. Fauna was left half-finished, and well, any artist knows how hard it is to return to the flow after being forcefully ripped out of it. It has been abandoned, revisited and reimagined many times after this, because though I lost the initial drive, I just loved and valued it too much to not go back to it, it “made me” open the project and work on it.

The album art was a gift from the super talented @dora_hegedus , who I think captured the essence of the track beautifully!

So after countless iterations, here it is - the track that I probably have the deepest connection with so far.
