Before this improv we simply agreed to balance how many people are droning on a single note vs sliding. It created some interesting textures when paired with the imagery of ocean waves.

Harmonic Introductions is a small vocal ensemble dedicated to the art of overtone singing. Founded in Spring 2012, we currently hold weekly sessions in Rockville, MD using a variety of vocal exercises to teach members the techniques of overtone singing. By holding both free and structured meditative improvisations, we create a playspace for people to practice and get to know their own voice more intimately. 

One of our goals as a group is to build a community of enthusiasm and appreciation of this style of vocalization within the D.C. metro area, and play a role in the continued growth of a global network!
